I personally really like the uniqueness of it. Judging from the drawings it will be pretty sweet when its finished. really dig the brick work and wish the Hare would go with something similar. I do agree with the poster who said it looks like you would cook during a day game.

I agree, but it makes me a bit sad. A big part of my A&M history has now been sacrificed to the Kyle expansion.

I graduated in Jollie Rollie, and it is now an open plaza. I also took a number of classes there.

The Kyle East building (the ugly gray thing hanging under the stands like a remora in the 2003 shot) is where I learned both handball and racquetball. Gone, too.

New stadium is cool, don't get me wrong. But it still makes me a bit sad.

I noticed one of the gates had Bear Bryant's name on it.
Those Bama fans are sneaky.

I have to ask whether anyone understands the purpose of that "shade structure" atop the eastside stands.

Seriously, it is not going to "shade" anything, unless we start playing games at 8:00am. By noon (2pm at the latest) the sun will have moved far enough West to toast even the folks sitting on the top row of the third deck on the East side.

From the sun study they conducted it looks like the top 10ish rows will remain in shade even at 2pm.

These structures are meant to amplify the crowd noise, house the new lights, and provide additional press box seating. The shade component is just a side effect.

Apparently you and the people that laid it out that way don't.

ETA: most important upgrade-concession vendor

SMOKED BEER CAN CHICKEN:Savory Mesquite-smoked beer can chicken served with Yukon Gold potatoes and a trio of house-made BBQ sauces.

SLOVACEK SMOKED SAUSAGE:A legendary Texas sausage sandwich.

GRAVY ENCRUSTED BRISKET WRAP:An Aggie original - a quarter pound of lean brisket wrapped in a flour tortilla, dipped in our signature cream gravy, a fried to a golden brown.

CHICKEN FRIED STEAK DOG:A crispy hand-battered foot-long hot dog on a stick served with tangy jalapeno creamed gravy.

BRISKET AND PORK TACOS:Hearty, meaty tacos topped with chili con queso, spicy BBQ sauce and crisp Texas slaw.

GUADALAJARAN STREET CHIMICHANGAS:Ground beef - a full pound - sauteed to perfection and infused with our zesty southwestern mole, then double wrapped in American cheese and a flour tortilla.

THE AGGIE BURGER:An all-beef burger seasoned and grilled to perfection topped with zesty BBQ sauce, smoky bacon, rich creamy cheese sauce and jalapeno peppers.

PICKARDS PICKENS:Your favorite appetizers presented in a sampler bucket. Cheesy Stix, Pork Rinds, Queso Poppers, and Calzone KaBOBs.

I wanted to hate on it being A&M and all but that shite sounds downright delicious. Nice job, Aggies.

I dont recall mentioning the roof structures at all. Im speaking of the overall layout of the decks and orientation of the stadium. It just seems like the decks make less shade than most.

Phase II must be the installation of the dildos in the seats.

Really looking forward to my trip over there this year. I should get a good view of the stadium from my seats in section 522 (or somewhere up around there).
