Tearing just the ACL won't slow Lattimore much, I don't think. He says he'll be back stronger than ever and I have no reason to disagree with that. Plus, we had the best knee replacement doc in the country working on his knee.

The first game we didn't use him much (13 carries, I think). The SECCG was just a bed-shitting top to bottom. He was hurt last year...

and is not coming off an ACL injury

According to Edward Aschoff, this injury actually makes him 'scarier' actually the 2nd 'scariest' player in the league next season.

And because Latt said something to the effect of 'I'm gonna come back better and stronger, etc.'

Ok Mr. Lattimore thank you, all we need is your word, not actual results on the field against legit competition.

Some of you are not nearly cynical enough.

You realize he has only had 11 carries vs Arky in 2 seasons due to injury right?

Sorry but you're going to convince very few non-Arky fans that Davis is a better back and going to be a better back than Lattimore. Look at all the 40 times you want the SEC has seen both play and almost all agree Lattimore is the better RB.

It's like choosing the best supermodel at a party of supermodels. They're both great players.

I love Knile, but he's really only played 2/3rds of 1 season or so full time. In that short period of time, I feel like he was the best back in the SEC. Hard to tackle. Quick to the hole. Breakaway speed. Excellent in pass protection. If he can extrapolate that to the entire season, I'll be more convinced.

On the other hand, Lattimore has had his own injury problems. So neither one of them has been able to prove their worth without those freak injuries.

I think the NFL will value Davis more highly thanks to his speed, provided he shows he fully recovered from the broken ankle and has a good 2012.

Lattimore : 4.46

Davis: 4.48

Guess I was wrong

So Davis gets more yards on fewer carries and is first team All-SEC, but Latt is the better back? Not to mention Davis did it against better teams.

I'm trying to wrap my big fat head around this one but it's a doozy.

As mentioned try to use the same logic people used with Cam-Dyer. Its easier for an RB to get more YPG when he has such a stellar QB, everyone is focused on the QB / WRs. As opposed to someone like Latti who is the feature guy, everyone knows he is, and still can have a stellar game.

eta: According to SECsports.com Latti was 1st team and Davis was 2nd team.

I'm saying see how he does after this serious injury before crowning him best in the SEC.

I guess the OP got his answer. Arky fans think Davis is better, USC fans think Latt is better, and the rest say Latt is better by a slight margin.

I crowned him the best? When? I said he's better than Davis, IMO. Just throwing in my opinion, that is all.

Do they measure 40 times after HS? Only in the combine, which hasn't happened for either player yet. So yes, he actually has a better 40 time...

Felix Jones would like to interject.
