Did anyone think Georgia looked elite last night ?
Sorry, I cant tag a team that cant score a single offensive TD as elite. I hope we can put the JT Daniels Heisman talk to rest now.
Don’t really know why you would start a thread like this (or maybe I do), but here we go.
Show me where Kirby said this team was elite. If you watched the game and know anything about football, you saw arguably the best two defenses in CFB, maybe by a good margin, totally controlling the first game of the season. First games where great on great defenses face off are often low scoring, particularly when a team like UGA is without so many injured offensive starters who will be back this season. If you watched the game until the end, and understood the game of football, you saw UGA driving successfully to well inside Clemson’s red zone with momentum and plenty of time to score. But Kirby wisely took a knee. I don’t think many, if any, other teams in CFB would have fared any better vs Clemson given UGA’s circumstances. Now go buy you another WalMart t-shirt and pretend you, personally, are a winner.

Georgia stunk it up as their version of bammer-style CHEATING LOWLIFE, slightly less than Clemson stunk it up on their way to being exposed as being bammer-style CHEATING LOWLIFE
FML, this post is stupid.

2011 I remember 2 teams that couldn't score an offensive touch down, and both teams were elite

Poundedanus will never admit this

I'm certainly not convinced that Clemson owns one of the 2 best defenses in college football. I can't think of one thing the dogs attempted or better executed that would have put the defense on their heels. Everyone on both sides was pretty much standing on the LOS daring the other to do something about it.

Running game broke them on 4 minute drive to end game. But that was about it. Bully ball all game and Clemson defense was up for it

The "elite" question was about the defense, that is what it sounded like to me.
I have no idea how good their offense will be this year. It does seem to bother a lot of people though.
I also think Kirby knew going into this game his defense was going to be "pretty good." If the offense could play without making many mistakes, Clem would struggle to move the ball.

Right, Georgia beat them being better at playing one-dimensional football than Clemson. I'm smelling a pattern with Dabo's bunch. In the last 3 big games, they have not looked good.
Now they get to run and hide their deficiencies by out-talenting the ACC and in 11 weeks ESPN is telling the world how good they are again.

Eh, no need to split hairs. Probably one of the best in the nation and they proved it.

Ehhh kind of like old Bama v. LSU games when LSU was good and the scores were 9-6 etc
Great defenses, low scoring didn’t make either less elite.

True

I remember when Bama was elite in 2011. They were 12-1 and lost to LSU 9-6.
This is true but, in the intervening years, Daddy Saban has welcomed offensive change while Lil' Bowl Cut has been busy recruiting great talent and watching it wither on the vine of an offense that Mark Richt would consider to be antiquated.

Both Clemson and UGA will have offenses that will appear elite the rest of the season given their schedules
