What if UGA hits rock bottom in the next two years?

With UGA's schedule?

Good one.

This is dumb. You should be on a 24 hour ban to think about what you’ve done.

His teams don’t look anything like the teams from those coaches. He recruits well, plays in a really weak division, and his teams are hard nosed & tend to play with discipline.

O & Chizik caught lighting in a bottle, and it was painfully obvious they were in over their heads.

And Brian Kelley is the next Bert.

What’s your point?

our rivals wish this to be true so badly. Chizik and O were both collosal failures in their preivous head coaching gigs, then relied on wayward transfer journeymen to lead their team to a title and then sucked immediatley after they left. Kirby is in his first ever head coaching job and took a dorky 2* walkon to a national title. Really, really bad news for the rest of the league not named alabama.

Your thread is dumb and you should feel dumb. Kirby has already been to another title game and has had good years even outside of the playoffs. So he's already better than those one year wonders and don't foresee them falling off a cliff anytime soon.

Well, Kirby has already won 4 of the 6 NY6 Bowls, 2 being semi-final wins, and has been to 2 National Title games in 6 years.

We haven't had a season below 11 wins since 2016 (Covid withstanding).

But go off king

O could have absolutely continued to win 8 or 9 games a year and would’ve hung around for a while. He just decided to mail it in

I think him getting fat and happy after winning a title is part of it. I also think Aranda leaving played a big part of it too because Coach O is not a strategy guy by a long stretch but him leaving opened the door for Coach O to put more of his beloved DL guys in ("We gonna run the 4-3 and get affa the quarterback!") and him taking pot shots at Aranda before the 2020 season started saying how the defense was gonna be better now spoke volumes to me.

Or the next Saban. Or somewhere in between.

This is dumb, nothing about their situations is similar.

Kirby is a very good coach from a recruiting and schematic standpoint and has a discipline and attention to detail neither O or Chizik ever had.

If it hadn’t been for some terrible QB choices he would’ve just won his second championship.

UGA is in great shape moving forward.

Kirby has gone to a NY6 Bowl or playoff for 5 straight seasons and finishing in the top 8 5 straight times.

Absolutely nothing about his coaching tenure even remotely suggests a possibility of a Chizik/Eaux downfall.

Kirby is the new Fulmer, he'll keep em in the hunt but he'll need another aligning of the planets to get title number two

Biggest difference:

UGA won as a team with a walk-on as QB with the nickname of "the mailman"

Chiz and O won NCs with heisman trophy winners.

One of these is not like the others.

That's a fair point, Kirby and urban are the only coaches to beat bama in the playoffs without a generational quarterback, if starts getting/developing qbs my trajectory of Kirbo changes alot, but he needed a lot of breaks to do it with stetson and would need the same if his qb play remains the same
