I do because 95% of them have no other affiliation with Bama other than the t shirt they bought at Walmart. And as soon as Bama isn't number 1 anymore, those same 95% will be purchasing the next number 1 teams shirt at Walmart.

This is so dumb.
Alabama has a higher percentage of college graduates than Louisiana does
I have a connection to the University, but I don't care if someone who doesn't pulls for the team. It doesn't lessen my connection. It is a good thing that the team has a large fan base. Let's be real, not all LSU fans graduated from LSU either.
Besides, Bama has many celebrity fans who never attended. They aren't buying their shirts at Walmart and neither are a large segment of the rest of the fanbase (and so what if they did?).
