Not usually. But it did here. You relieve your OC of their duties a week before a NC game when he has bitten off more than he can chew and it has affected his value to the team and you have a proven tactician ready to step in like Sark. Sark knows the offense and will not change a thing in regards to formations or philosophy. The method of how he attacks will differ and that is all.
Kiffin obviously wanted to do the right thing and finish the season. He would have been criticized heavily had he not. This is not like Kirby Smart who had Saban to work with on preparing the defense last year. Kiffin discovered that an OC who has taken a HC position cannot give the 100% focus required to do the work that is owed to the players, coaches, and fans. Same as Mark Richt when FSU looked unprepared and like complete shite in his final game as OC in the MNC game. I am sure he would have tried to manage it but fortunately for him and Bama, Saban helped him make the right decision. I am sure that he would not have been completely honest with himself if he wasn't presented the opportunity of self examination that Saban pretty much forced upon him.
This was a good decision for everyone who is associated with Alabama. Sark will tweak the plan of attack enough within the framework of their style to keep Clemson guessing. I will not be surprised if they maul Clemson under these circumstances.

What is the quote he's referring to here?

Kiffin on @McMurphyESPN tweet: That's simply not true.

Seems like this is really getting under your skin with all your comments dude.
Just curious of the real reason this happened. We can all speculate, but obviously Kiffin screwed up big time to be let go with a week left and the biggest game in college sports.

Brett McMurphy is quickly becoming one of the worst in the business.

Why is there always some hidden reason with you guys? Could it ever possibly be just as reported by both Kiffin and Saban?
Why do some fans believe everything their coach says but nothing a rival coach says? It's ponderous.

Well you just made a great point about us not getting the whole story.

Great post, but I disagree on the Smart part of it. I think what happened last year was exactly why Saban hired Sark and put him in reserve. Everybody knew Kiffin would be a head coach somewhere, and Smart struggled with double duties and he knew there was a chance Kiffin would also.

The gullibility of people amazes me. You don't let your OC go a week before the championship, it just doesn't happen.

That's probably the best ever Bama gif.
He could have actually put in a pair of sunglasses and said deal with it or such and it wouldn't have been any more perfect.

Kiffin is the only reason Bama is where they are this past 3 years.

Interesting theory considering Bama won national championships 3 out of 5 years before he came to Tuscaloosa.

If y'all win the title, it's proof that Lane was replaceable and therefore a bad decision to hire in the first place. Clearly any half drunk wash out can win with bamas talent. How the hell did Saban allow Lane near his baby?

And Bammers offense would have stalled without him.

Were you too busy fapping to Sark's booger eating to notice that his headset doesn't have a mouthpiece?

Why does he need a mouth peice when he can just tell the guy next to him what play to call. If he can't talk to anyone why is he listening?
