The Kick 6 led to an epic AU choke job. Langham's play led to one of the greatest beatdown's in Title game history, punking the Dynasty in the process. It was the beginning of the SEC ruling football.

Yeah, well...except the 90's Nebraska dynasty was just roaring up as they won in '94, '95, '97.

And I guarantee the SEC was still raking in more money and getting better ratings, etc. That's what I meant by ruling.

Its quite obvious that only bama fans don't recognize it as the greatest of all time. This was hailed as greatest college play of all time nationally, rooting out the Cal-Stanford final play. Did either Cal or Stanford win the national championship that year? Season results are meaningless when talking about the single greatest play in history. This grasping at the Langham straw is a joke. BTW, didn't Langham sign a napkin after that Miami game and get bama on probation? Maybe it was more significant than we originally thought. If he didn't intercept, bama would not have gotten put on probation (maybe).

The butthurt is strong over the Kick6...

And getting their arse kicked by Nebraska (Florida and Tennessee)? I mean, who knows how much money and ratings Notre Dame received in the 90's. I feel you are really, really reaching on that one. The SEC "dynasty" was still a good 13 or so years away...

The Langham play didn't resonate nationally and wasn't viewed as a big deal or anything important until 20 years later.

And even now 90% of college football FANS have no idea it even happened.

Errbody knows about kick six.

Popularity has little to do with greatness.

Tyrone Prothro's catch was a much greater example of the accomplishment of an amazing athlete.

Little bros focus on single games like this; big bros count championships.

Grow up.

Meh, 55-44

How long did little bro have to linger on Punt Bama Punt because you were not even relevant and our bitch?

I imagine, the longer you guys bring up Kick Six, it's just a reminder that you realize your place among the b-listers of the SEC.

Top 6? Sure. Top 4? Nope.

It must rustle the shite out of your jimmmies to know that ESPN, CBS and every other sports station will be playing that replay for years to come. Your children will hear about that game, their children will hear about it and so on. No one will remember your victories and no one will care. War Eagle little bro. War Eagle

This is true. No one remembers when big brother wedgies his scrawny little brother, but they always remember when the little brother eeks out a victory. It's not our fault that when we win, you can't even give us a decent challenge. Arse whippings rarely make for good ESPN fodder.

Well, so far you have 61 votes and 46 say that you suck and are wrong.

I'll go with the 46 nay sayers.

SEC dominance didn't begin until about 15 years later when florida beat down ohio state. regarding the greatest play in SEC history, my understanding is there was a 91 yard run by georgia in the early 80s thats more famous than the langham interception. I think the kick 6 is the answer to the OP question though.
