Probably not. I think the interception of Matthews by Langham in the 1992 SEC Championship Game is greater and holds more meaning. Had Florida won that game college football as we know it would look very different from what it looks like now.
That pick six in Birmingham on December 5, 1992, ensured the survival of the championship game, ensured other conferences would adopt the format, and would ensure a march toward the eventual college football playoff.
Much like the Punt, Bama, Punt game of 1972, the Kick Six game will go on to be remembered as just another fluky play in the Iron Bowl series.

No doubt it's the greatest single, most unprobable, amazing end to a meaningful game. The fact that Saban wanting the extra time, it ended the three peat and exposed the QB for being a doushe is just icing on the cake. Long Live Kick Six.

I dont think thats right I think the kick 6 was better because it ended bammer 3 peat chances and it was good to be able to run onto the field after the game it was really awesome

Alabama's threepeat chances vs. the history of college football......yeah. I'll take the play that changed football forever over a fluke miracle that ended the run of an impressive team.

The Langham play didn't resonate nationally and wasn't viewed as a big deal or anything important until 20 years later.
And even now 90% of college football FANS have no idea it even happened.
Errbody knows about kick six.

So what? There have been literally hundreds of plays that have broken the hearts of countless fans in my lifetime. The most recent one being the final play at the goal line in the Super Bowl this past February. Does that make that guy's interception the greatest play in Super Bowl history? No. It does not.
In order for a play to be considered the greatest, it has to have meaning. Kick Six has some meaning because it did cost Alabama the West as well as the national title but that is a mole hill compared to the mountain Langham's interception created. That game, and that play, completely changed college football. It gave rise to the conference championship game being a viable option for conferences, it paved the way for the introduction of the BCS as well as for the introduction of the college football playoff.
If Langham doesn't make that play and Florida goes down to score, none of the above ever happens. In fact...Alabama and Auburn would have shared the SEC title in 2013 because there would not have been a conference championship game for Auburn to go to.

Assuming it didn't resonate nationally at the time of the event (it did), why does it matter that it took 20 years for the play to resonate? At the time of its release, Citizen Kane wasn't viewed as brilliantly as it is now. And I can guarantee you the vast majority of Joe Public haven't watched it or even heard of it. And yet it is still considered the greatest movie ever made by many people.
