Did Carolina's barely winning despite a +3 turnover difference and Vandy losing to WKU get you even more excited about this year?

I would think so. It'll be interesting to see how Mizzou and Miss State play this season. If Kentucky is on the up-and-up, this might be the year Kentucky makes a little noise.

I'm cautious to say a lot because I haven't seen us play yet. But if we are what I think we are, we should have a very good chance in Columbia next week.

Have to get a feel for KY first, but what we saw out of South Carolina shouldn't scare KY fans away from thinking they can't win.

South Carolina still hasn't learned how to tackle. Teams that can get their playmakers in space are going to make it tough on them.

You serious? We tackled a LOT better last night. The defense wasn't all there, but they're obviously improved and could gel each game.

You guys are putting too much faith in one game. We looked like shite against Vandy a couple years ago and then won 11 games.

It's week 1 over reaction time and you guys are the only game in town. It'll die down after tomorrow.

I think we can win but will still give USC the edge until I see us play. Lafayette won 9 games last year so they're no pushover.

Of course USC got demolished to start the season last year and then beat UGA the next week. Anything can happen.

Kentucky started off well last year. If they can improve upon that, and their QB play stays stellar, I think they could be decent in the East.

I think Kentucky should probably end its own losing streak against WKU before it can like anything the Hilltoppers do.

It was Week 1 against non-SEC opponents. I don't see USCe not being prepared for its first conference game at home. And I'm not surprised Vandy struggled either so that doesn't change much in terms of preseason expectations.

We also haven't seen Kentucky play. I do think the potential is there to do well enough this season to get back to a bowl and to maybe beat some teams they shouldn't. Right now it's just potential.

What? We play WKU this year? I am excited with our tea. This year. I could see a 7 or 8 wins. And yes, I am looking at you Mizzou as a possible win in Commonwealth.

Yes after last night I think your game against SC looks more like a rent a win than conference game. Good God did SC suck.

We were going to be favored against Vandy anyway, and Carolina struggling to score was somewhat expected. Being that the game is in Columbia will be a challenge, but I expect UK to play well.

I'm pulling for UK (considering their history, I pull for them and vandy in just about every game they play) but idk.

They seem to be going in the right direction, but USC played a team wiht at least a pulse and played away from home, while UK will beat up on a cupcake. Week 2 on teh road while SC can settle down at home...I imagine SC will win but it should be a pretty intersting game.

First home game
Long week of preparation for Mitch
A lot to prove coming off of a sloppy win
Team pissed about the blown lead last year

Don't see us losing to UK.

Quite the complex you've developed there. I've been complimentary of UK and its prospects this year and have said in other threads that you've been in that I also don't like Mizzou going to UK so early in the season and that it wouldn't surprise me for y'all to finally beat us in SEC play this year, but that gets crickets.

But if I say something true about UK having lost to WKU in its last two meetings, you get defensive.

Relax. It's all good. shite happens. We lost to Indiana last year and still were good. It's okay that you've lost to WKU. Own it. Get thicker skin.

I think UK will be better in the red zone than North Carolina against USC but I have no idea how our own defense will do. I think Louisiana will test the Cats severely and could even win if our defense totally sucks.

SCAR still has the OBC and he has never liked UK so it could be a bloodbath if his coaching skills somehow get revived for the game. Last night he said his play-calling was horrible, and it was, and that they were lucky to win.
