Congratulations on the great season Auburn fans. I think Malzahn's a good coach but before y'all get too carried away in the moment, y'all should all be giving thanks to Gene Chizik for allowing it all to happen.

Gee, these butt hurt hog fans come out of the wood work fast. Yeah, one thing is CRYSTAL CLEAR. Gus took a team that only won 3 games last year and won 10 this year. Bielema has taken a team that won 4 games last year and has won only 3 games this year. Now, Bielema makes more money than Gus at the moment. So, you all tell us that Bielema is the better coach and when I say everyone I mean everyone will just say OK. In your world that might be the case but it must really hurt to see another group of Arkansas boys get away and have success with another school.
You reep what you sow.

Are you now Gus' new and improved "Teresa"?

I think everyone is bought in after that designed Hail Mary to Louis last night. The dude is a freaking genius. How in the hell did he know those DB's would tip it to Ricardo like that. Are you kidding me

OMG, are you serious?
First of all, all but true Sophomores on Auburn's team this year were recruited while Gus was the O.C. at Auburn.
This isn't a situation like Chizik or Miles inherited a team loaded with talent from a completely different staff. Gus was on the staff for 3 years and gone for 1 year. He played a major role in the recruitment of most of the team.
Second, if you are going to use the "he has done well with other coaches' players" argument, are you not saying that he is taking the exact same players that the previous coach went 3-9 (0-8) with last year and coaching them up to 10-1 (6-1) this year, thereby arguing that, in fact, he is doing a great job as a coach???

The best thing Auburn has going for them is that the Penn Wagers crew officiated last night's game... that and that UGA's DBs don't know how to bat down a ball.

Proof is in the pudding, no one can deny that Gus is the best off-season new hire of all the incoming coaches. He also had advantages as well, he knew the league well enough to know that you have to develop players. In that regards he might be the best player developing coach in the SEC. Teams tend to take on the personality of their coaches and leaders. Only the best of the best can do what Gus did this year and it is and should result in the SEC coach of the year.

Penn was mightier than the sword.

It has more to do than that though, you also have to realize he has great assistants.
JB Grimes
Tim Horton
and Ellis Johnson who was at South Carolina and is regarded as one of the best defensive scheme coaches in the SEC.

And what genius hired them? No matter how you slice this, it comes back to the Genius Gus Malzahn. /thread

First game I watched Auburn play last night so take it for what it's worth. I know your QB transferred and not playing his original position, but I don't see him as a terrible throwing QB. Of course he is not an upper level SEC QB but seems that Gus puts him in a good position to make the throws he should make and does a pretty good job of it.
Ram the ball down the opponents throat in the run game, then on occasion surprise them with some high percentage passes seems to be working out just fine for your QB.

His shitty offensive play calling and coaching almost lost you a game against an inferior opponent last night.
Would you still be saying this if Georgia's DBs just knock the ball down? I'm sure we can all pull up the scoreboard thread last night and see what they were saying about the coaching last night. Different story.

I absolutely hate Awburn but I've always like Gus and Arkansas will regret the day they didn't make him their head coach, when they had so many opportunities to do so.
