Just to be clear on how good Gus Malzahn is as a coach

We have a chance at a SEC championship and MNC with a terriable throwing QB and the worst MLB to ever play at AU. How Gus and Johnson scheme around those two deficiencies is nothing short of amazing. For what we're doing with the talent we're using, this is starting to be one if my favorite AU football seasons ever.

What's funny about that? I don't think we'll beat bama, but we're one game away from both. Great coaching job with the attrition by Chizik.

to the above guy I am not sure a one loss sec champion is going to make the MNC if FSU and OSU win out.

It must suck to be a hog fan, Malzahn grew up in Fayettville and they let him get away lol. Now there stuck with a coach in over his head.

He's done well with other coaches players but has never been any where long enough to know if he can sustain it.

He's done well his first year but let's not crown him the second coming yet. He has potential and focus to be a great one but let's just finish the year.

No, he didn't and nice 'there'. I'm never gonna regret not having him- he could pull a Saban and win the mnc 4 out of 5 years and I still wouldn't want him.

Gus is SEC coaching elite, you can not listen to the negative Nancy. Everyone that knew anything about football knows that Gus was/ is elite. Any coach that takes a 3 win team the season before and makes them a 10 win season winning team. Well, that is SEC coach of the year in my book. I was so excited about the hire and knew this was going to work.

I think what's clear, is Bama fans were correct on how horrible a coach you had. Last 4 yrs recruiting rankings for Au are a #7.25 average

Jury is still out on Bret. He inherited a hot mess at my house.
And while I think Gus is a good coach, I'm glad he isnt ours, for a variety of reasons.
He's doing very well at Auburn, which does make me throw up a little. Not because we might have had him, but because I loathe Auburn.
I sincerely hope (and expect) that Gus never wins an Iron Bowl again.
It takes a Cam or Johnny Football to beat Nick at all (or a lousy FG kicker for Bama...which has been corrected). And we have seen that it isnt possible to do it twice.
I'm all Hog. And as dismally as we've done against Nick for the last 6 years (sigh)...I give him complete respect. He's the best.
Gus is not. And Nick will flay him alive.
