I have Oregon close up 3 out of the last 4 years, Alabama will dominate their DL.

FSU probably has the most talented. Alabama has by far the best secondary of the 4. FSU is the closest at 81st giving up 240ypg.

WE PLAY THE SAME MOST EVERYTIME WE PLAY AUBURN AND THEY LIGHT US UP, most every time. between depriest being so slow and our corners being just kinda bad. nick perry having a decent game bout every 3rd or 4th game and poor landon sometimes trying to do to much and getting out of position. if we end up against either oregon or tcu they will light this defense up. to be honest, i'm not sure mizzou wont light up this defense.

all in all, its a very good thing we have an offense that can match up with most anybodys.

the auburn game skews things quite a bit. i dont think anyone with any football iq thinks that is typical either of the bama secondary or the auburn pass offense. Marshall and the auburn receivers were just monumentally on, something like 80% completion percentage on bombs (plus a 35 yard int that was called a catch), and the leading receiver had like a 40 ypc average. Also, we gave up 65 yards on the last drive (all of which were passing yard but 8) giving up pretty much everything underneath to drain the clock.

Can you do me a favor and let me know where FSU, Oregon, and TCU are ranked as far as secondaries, please?

Cyrus Jones did a good job in the Auburn game. Eddie Jackson should have stayed on the bus. Sylve did an outstanding job. He had one pick out what should have been a pick but was in position. A lot of what hurt or secondary is the formation that Gus used to put him in single coverage with no help.

Thanks, I already know the answer though!!

I don't understand the big deal when the other 3 teams have much worse secondaries.

Not really because anybody who has watched your team knows they are much worse away from Tuscaloosa. You would have likely lost to Auburn by 30 or 40 points if the game was actually played in Auburn

Alabama essentially won by 19 points. So home field advantage is a ~50-60 point swing?

Holy shite you're stupid.

Alabama's secondary looks like a bunch of Deion Belues out there.

I think its more of Auburn having a terrible passing game and torching that secondary for 456 yards. If Marshall can do that, what is Mariota gonna do.
Come to think of it, Alabama could be facing TWO Heisman trophy winning Qbs with an average to below average secondary.

No doubt they're good. I got into this debate with my FSU buddies today.

Marshall might get made fun of, but he has every tool in the world and is incredibly talented. He might have a better arm than Mariota and Jameis. Greene is good, and I'm sure whoever Oregon has is good too, but they won't have two monsters running go routes all night. That on top of a pretty deadly, at times, read option game.

No doubt Alabama's secondary leaves something to be desired. And no doubt they got demolished by Auburn. But I really don't see FSU doing anything even near that to Alabama. Same for Oregon.

If Cook isn't running wild, I don't see FSU moving the ball very well at all. Oregon is always scary at this time of year, but dammit, I'm gonna need to see em do it against an Alabama/good Stanford team before I'm sold. This might be the year though, who knows.

Bama secondary is not as good this year, actually we are in a rebuilding year, They will be better next year, They are defiantly good enough to stop Mizzou, AU has without a doubt the best offence in the country, AU needs to rebuild the secondary, and get better Defensive ends, I do not think the problem was with Defensive coordinator, Its the players, Good luck in your bowl game, you have 2 freaks at wide receiver they are tall great hands and speed and cannot be covered by one db. Do any of the remaining teams have a wr as good as Kevin white, Coates, Williams. Fuenches, Treadwell, or Marquez north? According to the next 2 years of draft ratings at Walter's, no they don't. I'll score Mizzou half a point for formerly having one.

Yeah, Greene for FSU is a nightmare. But they don't use him like Coates, Duke, or White were used.

He's dangerous on slants and underneath stuff. And I'm sure he has the ability to take the top off a defense at times, but he's not gonna be running go routes past Alabama's corners at an 80% success rate.

He was about 5 spots lower than everybody I listed... but yeah he good. I by no means infer these teams are full of bad wrs, just not as elite as some we have seen so far.

He's productive as hell though. Just, not the type of guy(like White, Coates, or Duke) who you can tell, "hey, line up wide and demolish whoever the hell is in front of you."

Explained this to my buddies today. They brought up how bad Alabama looked and how they've looked bad too, but not THIS bad.

Well shite, yeah, Auburn has 4 losses, but at ANY time they can explode for ridiculous yardage and points. Sorry buddies, but Florida, Virginia, Wake, Syracuse, and the rest of those shite shows who they compared to Auburn can't do that. At no time could those teams have exploded for 21 or so points and put you in a bad spot. None of those teams have playmakers who can turn a game in the span of 6 minutes.

Would you rather arm wrestle someone you're relatively stronger than, and squeak by? Or arm wrestle someone that you're usually much stronger than, but 30% of the time they can literally rip your arm off? I know that's an idiotic example, but it gets my point across, I hope
