No they didn't. LSU lost the SEC title game in a rematch with Alabama in New Orleans.

Agreed. Just like Bama won the 2011 national title. No asterisk needed and no "mulligan" bs needed. Doesn't mean people don't still try to claim it.

Not a huge surprise, this is what happens when the team with most SEC Championship game wins is down. These things go in cycles in the 90s the East won the conference I think 7 of 10 years.

This is why the SECC game should be played in Tuscaloosa every year.
100,000 plus seating capacity; if Auburn wins the SEC West, they deserve to play in BDS; no sense in both division champs having travel expenses; SECW is going to win anyway so they should be rewarded hosting the game. SECE can host after one of it's teams wins the SECC.

You do know what a mulligan is, correct?

Clearly not

It's just a coincidence that the SEC office is in alabama.

I do. My point is that the use of the term is a thinly veiled attempt to diminish Alabama's 2011 championship while excuse making for LSU. This may have been somewhat valid (hence NOT the BS it currently is) had Bama not completely embarrassed LSU in every way on 1/9/12.

LSU fans forget about THEIR mulligan from 01.

Say what you want. It took 8 quarters of football before Bama could score a TD.
Great 2011 Bama team, it is just a shame LSU had Jordan Jefferson running the show.

It's valid no matter what. Bama got a mulligan.
Now, whether it was valid or not is really the issue. I believe it was, but that doesn't make it not a mulligan by definition.

Remember, Steve Spurrier is Nick's inspiration in some aspects. It's only natural he pulls a mulligan.

So then your 01 SEC title should have an * as well. Can't have it both ways.
