I know this isn't a popular opinion on here, but Dobbs should be an Aggie with all the arse-raping he's going to be doing to SEC defenses this year.

He's not really getting any hype outside of Tennessee. In fact, most national pundits have him as the weak link on offense, that and the UT passing game.

I think everyone knows UT is a below average passing team. It's not a secret.

He can also sling it just like any QB if you give him time. He's not particularly good with his footwork when he's under pressure, but you can say that about a lot of QBs.

His WR's don't help him much either. In the UF game he hit two guys right in the hands and they dropped the ball.

fair analysis and he also makes up for the OL. They were certainly much better last year than in 2014 but they weren't an impenetrable wall either.

The OL, WR's and Dobbs should all be some level of improved this fall.

I agree. They will do their damage on the ground. Just like last year.

Exactly! The receivers were really bad last year!

This may or may not be true. If you factor in his running, he had a better season than Harris.

That said, that could be the result of playcalling and Harris' injury and not because he's a better player per se.

Passer rating in the college game is obsolete. Total QBR is a much better representation of how good a QB is at this level.

QBR for Dobbs in 2015 - 75.9 which put him 21st in the country right behind Dak Prescott and ahead of Paxton Lynch. Also, Dobbs is the 5th highest of any returning QB on that list behind Baker Mayfield, Watson, Chad Kelly and JT Barrett.

Harris was 41st last year with a 68.2 total QBR.

If you want to use traditional stats, Dobbs is still better by a decent margin. 59% completion to BH's 53%. Dobbs also threw more touchdowns and less interceptions than Harris. Dobbs averaged 230 yards of total offense per game compared to Harris' 187 ypg. Harris had more picks than Dobbs did with nearly 100 less attempts.

Dobbs accounted for 27 total touchdowns last year. Harris only had 17.

His rushing stats are much better if you calculate them like they do in the NFL.

Very dumb to count sacks as rushing attempts and negative run plays for the QB.

I didn't think he got a lot of hype because everyone knows he is not a very good passer. He is likely a slightly above average QB in the conference.

I agree. How a sack when you are passing is subtracted against rushing makes zero sense

Yet slightly average Dobbs was one of the upper echelon QBs last year compared to the frick ups much of the conference rolled out.

Coker, Swag, Dak, Dobbs....then who else? HGH Grier only played 1.25 quarters of good football before he was ousted as a fraud.

Josh Dobbs is a Senior

Brandon Harris was a True Sophomore first year starter last season..

Seriously how you as an Arkansas fan can count out Harris is ridiculous.. Your buddy, Allen? was it.. he was freaking horrific his first 2-3 seasons.

Look at this shite.

Brandon Allen

Did yall give up on him? No..

Brandon Harris is already ahead of him and Mett who was a Junior first year starting..

Dak was a 126 QBR rating his second season (RS Freshman)

Harris was a 175 QBR as a fresh, and 131 QBR as a true sophomore first year starter.. who did not even get the benefit of an extra game versus a cupcake team he would have padded some stats..

Harris is seriously not as bad as you want him to be.. He's entering his Junior season and should make huge progressions.

He's is a Senior..

No, actually he's really not. He may very well be better, but he's not "much better"

Harris showed the same type of progressions as Mett did, and Mett was older. Harris had his best game against Florida just like Mett had a break out game against Alabama in his first season starting.

Keep in mind, Harris played the backend of the season with a fricking Sports Hernia injury that severely limited him.. He has put on serious healthy weight this off-season to be more durable.. and he looks solid.

Harris still showed flashes of talent in the same way Mett did his first season starting.. They both were very similar.. and both showed the flashes at times..

People really over-exaggerate the whole Harris is bad thing.

But it's fine.
