Good move by him. He's endured some freak injuries and I am rooting for him to find a home in the NFL. He could almost definitely find a home as a change of pace type running back.

Coming off a major injury I would say pursuing the NFL is a prudent thing to do irregardless of draft stock

Given his injury, his pro career won't be as long as some. Plus he has a little boy to support. I hate to see him go, but wish nothing but the very best for Henry. Good luck, True Son!

I think he will be fine in the NFL, sad he is leaving and probably auburns fault because of their unsportsman like behavior in trying to hurt josey

We still have Murphy and Hansbrough, they played equally with Josey this year. Plus we have some young guys we haven't seen yet. We'll miss Josey, but I think we'll be ok.

And True Son is from the fight song:
Every true son, so happy hearted
Skies above us are blue.
There’s a spirit so deep within us
Old Missouri, here’s to you! (Rah! Rah!)
When the band plays the Tiger war song
And when the fray is through
We will tramp, tramp, tramp around the columns
With a cheer for old Mizzou!

Hit it!
Hooray! Hurrah! Mizzou! Mizzou!
Hooray! Hurrah! Mizzou! Mizzou!
Hooray! Hurrah! And a Bully for Ol’ Mizzou!
Rah rah rah rah!
Mizzou-Rah! Mizzou-Rah! Mizzou-Rah! Tigers!

Fight, Tiger, fight for Old Mizzou.
Right behind you everyone is with you.
Break the line and follow down the field.
And you’ll be, on the top, upon the top!
Fight, Tiger, you will always win.
Proudly keep the colors flying skyward.
In the end you’ll win the victory,
So, Tigers, fight for Old Mizzou!

We already ran a trio, and 2 of the guys are back.

We actually do very well at Running back normally and have guys behind them as well

Not Bama or UGA good, but we have some quick speedy Josey types that can get it done.

Next man up! Mizzou has SEC Depth at RB.

Feels like Josey has been in Mizzou's backfield since they were in the Big 8

Nah. He played as a true freshman. This was his senior year, but he still had a year of eligibility left due to the medical redshirt last year. He was a true sophomore when he got hurt.

Is it just me or does it seem like Mizzou is hemorrhaging players?

Sad to see the heart and soul of our team go but heartwarming to see him recover and have a chance to support his family well. It's strange but I don't think there's any question that without the adversity he faced with the injury, and the adversity Mizzou faced in 2012, that this team would not have been the driven, fierce, hard working group that it was. The team has itself said so many times.

He had to fill big shoes fast back in 2010. when Washington got kicked off, he became the #2 man. I remember watching him in the student section for the first time, thinking this guys is gonna be something big. Sad to see him go.

We've had 2 players now turn pro early everyone else leaving is just due to graduation. It sucks but if your players are good enough to turn pro early it means you were doing something right.

What will be interesting though is that, aside from Mauk, I'm betting at every other position most prognosticators and message board lurkers will revert back to assuming the Mizzou players waiting in the wings behind the departing guys are not as good as their equivalents on most other SEC teams. Which is fine by me as I want next years team to still have something to prove rather than feel too fat and happy over their "redemption" year this year.
