I went to a high school in Columbus GA... Jordan Vocation High School.
Pronounced "JUR-duhn".
The man the school was named after was one of the most distinguished and wealthy citizens of the city. Donated both the land and money for the school. NOT a country bumpkin.
Hell, until I got into college and started watching Michael Jordan, I thought the standard pronunciation for the name WAS "JUR-duhn".
