Like the Aggie football team I turned Tenn-UF off at halftime and was caught with my pants down.

You should recognize that we didn't open up the full offense against Aggie and that our young QB was just in his 2nd start and is going to get better as he adjusts to the speed of the game.

It works both ways, right?

Settle down. I was just curious how you guys changed your offense.

Is anyone willing to answer the question?

Did your offense attempt to pass further than 6 yards past the LOS against a weak defense or not?

Someone answered it earlier. You know who else is learning? Mike Evans, he's learning to not run backwards after making a catch. He only did it a couple times yesterday. We also got Swope and Eazy involved which means the passing game was working.

The answer is on the previous page. However, it was a little ambiguous.

Yes.

For example, all of his TD passes connected with the receiver 15+ yards from the LOS. His long of the day was probably ~40 yards (not counting YAC).

manziel is already better than tannehill was.

i will never understand how that plug was drafted in the top 10 of the nfl draft, a joke.

When you're that close to losing a ball game you don't hold back. You play to win, always. If y'all held back some offense it was likely the same reason Manziel didn't throw the ball down the field - the offense wasn't ready to run it in a live game situation.

And you're right it does work both ways. I was hoping you'd catch that and make that point.

Of course I'm biased, but I think Manziel is the better QB and has more upside. We'll find out as the season wears on, of course.

I think it's an "and" statement. I don't think there is anyone good enough to hang on a football field with Alabama this year, including LSU

We are going to skull frick Alabama. It's going to be biblical.

Of course you think Manziel is the better QB with better offense.

Clearly, we didn't need to open up the offense in the 2Q of the Aggie game. You could see that we didn't from yesterday when more of the playbook was used.

How are you liking your offense so far? Confident it will work in the SEC long term against the good defenses?

Honestly, if everything is run perfectly, and the defense plays a little better. We can win games and be within 2 scores of Bama/LSU. However it's the first year with this system so as far as this season goes, I'd say no. And I think with the way he plays JF is likely to get hurt at some point.

Hit the play button. I would actually like your honest opinion.

SMU Highlights

I think he dies if he tries a lot of the shite he pulled against SMU. He's got to get more comfortable in the pocket. Right now, he's relying on his athleticism at first sign of trouble. He doesn't have to do that. But that's not to say we want to deter his play-making ability.

With Johnny, it could be that he can't be rigidly aligned with any system. You either let him go or you bridle him.

I know this: I love watching this guy work.

And why was Gabbert drafted in the top 10?

Jag fan here. Frick Gabbert unless he's thrown 3 TD so far today. I can't even watch.
