In all seriousness, Manziel really didn't even have a full grasp of the offense until late in the season. By the end of the year he was like a surgeon in reading the defense and knowing what play to call or when to run or pass. That's only going to get better. He's also going to see his QB coach in California again.

The offensive coordinator was in over his head in that Florida game, let's be honest. We didn't see zone read and shite til the Auburn game. Kliff had no idea how to incorporate the run game, and even by their own admission, made a marked point NOT to focus on it in the spring and fall, emphasizing that the running game could be learned in a very short time. They were wrong. I give Kliff credit for adapting, but we didn't take advantage of Johnny's legs other than QB draws in that game, and it was a mistake.

No way Bama loses the Aggie game given Saban has all spring and summer to prepare. But they may go 11-1. I think JF's numbers might be down a lot because we will show the country how to contain him and even though other teams won't win they'll know how to slow him down.

sophomore slump...is that like the freshman wall?

Based on A&M's past, its the senior year we need to worry about with QBs...but I don't think Johnny will be around for that.

If Johnny becomes a better passer, Alabama's going to 15 guys playing defense.

contrary to a lot of people I think he'll actually run for more yards next year. The loss of Luke may put him in the scramble more, but more importantly our running game coordinator being named our OC will do it like the Cotton Bowl all year.

We have one returning WR who has started, and combined with above, I bet Johnny doesn't have a 350 yard passing game until the 4th game of the season

Death once had a JFF experience, death still won't talk about it.

I think we would have already seen the "sophomore slump," in the Cotton Bowl. Johnny had every reason to come out and play flat in that game. He had been living the jet set lifestyle since winning the Heisman. If we saw Johnny play at his most distracted in the Cotton Bowl then I seriously doubt there is going to be one.

Losing Joeckel will hurt a lot. Along with 2/3rds of his starting WR's. Evans is pretty legit though. And one of his RB's.

Matthews coming back really helps him. I'm surprised at his return.

Malcome Kennedy (dude who caught the game winner against Bama) doesn't get as much love as Evans, but might be the best at finding the open space when Johnny scrambles.

As for the RBs, Malena and Trey Williams are legit, and we'll also get to see Brandon Williams (highly rated OU transfer) take the field.

IMO, the biggest home games for A&M are:

--Bama

--Miss St.

Away:

--LSU

--Arkansas

--Ole Miss

Teams have known exactly how to stop JFF since LSU played them. The problem is that there aren't many teams that have the personnel to play the contain game with the DEs that LSU used to stop him. You need tons of speed on the outside. You have to be able to make him hesitate to take off and run.

It doesn't work in reverse. Just kidding, but I do think Saban's better at preparation than anyone else on planet earth. The way to beat Saban is for him not to have time ample time or an example to work with. Both of those happened last year. Neither will be the case next year.
