Will pad stats against the mediocre teams and make a lot of mistakes against great defenses.
Cam Newton and Tebow played great against great D's
He is fun to watch however.

Had 270 yards passing. 100 more than anybody else this year. He's still learning the offense. I'd hate to see what Mett would do against the LSU D.

I disagree. A&M is a solid team. LSU definitely should have scored more points, but that is another topic. Johnny Manziel got stopped by a great defense. He didn't play great, but few QB's play great against LSU. I think the kid has a bright future.

Absolutely but nobody has claimed that Mett is all that. People were comparing Manziel to Tebow and Newton before the game. He just isn't in that class. Never will be.
I like watching him play though.

Technically, this is his first year in the system because his first spring was in Sherman's system. He and Showers had to unlearn that offense and learn this one.

Tebow was nothing more than a situational player until his sophomore year.
Newton was 3rd string until he went JUCO, THEN to Auburn as a junior.
