Let's not go that far CGSC. If at the end of this every decent DC in the West is making huge money thanks to our search then we really made the best out of a poor situation.

Sumlin is probably going to rehire Snyder since nobody else wants the job

That would be pretty epic. Fire him, use the opening to raise the average price for a DC in the West by a lot, and then rehire him after everyone else is locked into deals.

I don't see what Sumlin gets out of it, but as a fan I would like it.

Lol A&M lol

I contacted Kate Upton to be my next GF

Chavis turned down Texas and Georgia but will accept an offer from the little brother Aggies???? Are you high?

How many defensive recruits is Sumlin trying to run off by dragging his feet on this DC hire?I'm thinking he's spinning his wheels because he legitimately has no idea what makes a good DC.
quote:

At this stage and age of his career, why Chief would want to teach Tejas soft 7-on-7 campers how to smashmouth D is beyond me?
quote:

Yup... and he will get a raise and then proceed to continue owning Sumlin's offenses.
quote:

You mean the same John Chavis that has coached two different schools since 1989, this is just Chavis getting a pay raise lil bro
Sumlin has given a lot of DC coaches raises. Wow.

It's not going to happen, but this place would be a goldmine of entertainment if it did. It would make the Aggie meltdown from this weekend look like child's play. Most of the LSU fans on this site would be ready to just go ahead and forfeit the rest of Les' tenure.

Again, not going to happen...but it would be glorious if it did.

quote:

Does anybody really think chavis is going to leave 1.3 million, a loaded football team next year and go coach defense at that dumpster fire?
Keep dreaming Aggie

quote:

No offense to A&M, but there really was never any doubt he was staying (save Miles leaving for Michigan). There are exactly zero reports of Chavis being unhappy in BR and he has a track record of loyalty. Why would he leave the stability and commitment to defense in BR for A&M?

And if any A&M fan says money, do you really think LSU would be outbid for Chavis?

quote:

It is false. Chavis signed his extension.

Jesus, aggies are the worst.

Aggies gonna have the highest paid HC-coordinator combo in all of college football. Y'all better win the West next year, Sumin's fourth season, or Coach Sumlin's fat arse is going to be getting hot.

Throwing top dollar at individuals doesnt mean anything

Just look at your current coach Sumlin.. he makes a bunch of money for 7, 8 win seasons..

I disagree with you.
So do the people who deposit Sumlin's earnings into his bank account.
But time will tell.
Right now they're in the stages of trying to put together the pieces (e.g., conference affiliation, stadium, coaches, recruits).

Side note: If there's another message board in existence, so filled with people who adamantly claim to know everything concerning topics about which they truly know nothing (see the posters in the first several pages of this thread), I'd be stunned. And I'm a politics junkie.
None of you has a clue what Chavis is going to do, yet you act the fools.
