Padded record by Auburn playing FSU when they were infants in College Football. Aubie won the 1st 8-10 games from the 50s to early 70s. Sure, those games count, but keep it in context.

Great example. Also notice that Ole Miss blocker is blocking a DB whose job it is to cover receivers.

You don't know very much about the series. Auburn owned FSU through most of the 80's. When Mickey Andrews got to FSU, and got his system installed, the Auburn dominance stopped.

Actually it is you who does not know too much about the series. It has been dead even since Bobby got to FSU in 1976, and this is to include Aubie buying out of the series, not once, but twice. Had those games been played it would have been a lot closer in terms of wins and losses for FSU. AUbie knew, they took their toys and ran.

I don't think you actually read what he posted.

Jimbo is right. This isn't basketball, it is now fairly common for loosing teams to score in the 40's. That is horse shite.

In what way?

Yes, I did read his post, and I can understand where he is coming from, but that would disregard the miracle turn around job that Bobby did from 1976 to 1977. That was the foundation of things to come.

That's funny. I was at the games in '83, '84, 87, and the Sugar Bowl in '89. I attended 4 of the games in the '70's also. That's what happens when you come from an Auburn family and grow up with some kids of prominent FSU boosters.

No, it just puts context to the amazing impact Mickey Andrews had on that program. Auburn went 4-1 against Bowden in their first five meetings after his hire (this includes two games with Andrews), which took us to the end of the 80's. Once Andrews got his system and players in place, they kicked out arse. Exactly as MrAUTigers said.

I was at those games also. Small world.

I do not disagree with you about Mickey. But the 1977 game launched FSU to bigger and better things.

Losing three more in a row?

Well then you know.......after the '85 game, the series record was 12-1-1. That is a far cry from being "dead" after '76.

Excuse the typo, Aubie. I will fix that for you. Like I said, Bowden got to FSU in 1976, record is even since 1976. And the Auburn and UF victories in 1977 were extremely important in building FSU, as was 1979 LSU.

I was at that game also. It rained so hard that the steps in Tiger Stadium looked like water falls. We got drenched, but it was a hell of a party....for the adults anyway.
ETA like I said, I grew up with prominent FSU boosters. I had dined with Coach and Mrs. Bowden more than a handful of times by the time I was a mid-teenager. Threw the ball around, on the beach, with Tommy and Terry when we were kids.
ETA to the ETA...the gist is, you won't teach me a damn thing about the Auburn/FSU series.

Yes, the Noles had a blast in BR and on Bourbon Street that night after the game.
