Yeah, I think he's the real deal.
Bama would be foolish not to consider him as a possible Saban replacement one day. He might have built Florida into a powerhouse by then though, and might not want to leave. Florida does have some sweet natural program benefits. Time will tell.......

He's getting something that Smart isn't! Real time head coaching and program building experience. That experience is priceless, in my opinion.

It was a big win and they are 5-0. That is all you can ask for after 5 games into a new coaching era.

Only time will tell if he is the guy to bring them back. I said all off-season long we just had to wait and see. So far he is trending in the direction of getting them back.

I have a question. How exactly is Jim McElwain's coaching performance this year any better than Gus Malzahn's coaching performance from 2013? Let's wait a couple years before crowning him. Les Miles is still the second best coach in the conference.

August: Bert and Gus are the best coaches.
September: no, it's Freeze. Bert an Gus suck! Saban's day is done.
October: Jimmy Mac, baby! And Saban's still the man.

He is not the second best coach yet. But I would put himself ahead of half of the coaches in the conference. Maybe the second best in the east.

Let's...cool these brakes again Jesus.

Could he become an elite coach? Absolutely.

Is he? He hasn't done enough...so no.

Mangino at Arky has won multiple Rose Bowls. No one holds a candle to him.
