i'm a mcelwain fan. hated when he moved on from bama but happy he moved into a hc position. was hoping he'd be hired to follow saban at bama. but truthfully, not sure he could have stepped into a better situation for him than fl. i have no doubt he'll do great things at fl at the rest of our expense.

Well, one thing I've noticed: He won over Kevlin Taylor. He never ran so well before. Now he is giving 110%. He just isn't that good of a running back. But, now he is the best RB he can be and he was just a guy playing RB before.

When Bama comes calling, he will follow Saban.

I'm one of his vocal critics. Foley was an arse hole that mistreated a lot of students when I played there. I never liked him. Maybe he's changed but a tiger can't change his stripes.

I think he's too old, stale and a tightwad. Our facilities are one of the worst in the SEC. Our arrest record is an embarrassment and I don't mean just football. Our fans do not travel worth a damn. We are still a regional school when we should be a national brand. He has not increased the brand.

UF was winning titles before Foley. Florida is sitting in the best location for top talent. We should be winning titles in swimming, golf, volleyball, etc. But who really cares about diving?

Foley lucked into Billy and Urban (I won't go into it), which his whole career rests. Hanging his hat on back to back football/basketball titles a decade ago. I laugh every time I hear people claim he's the best AD in the universe. He's mismanaged money paying ridiculous buyouts on lame coaches who didn't deserve it. Time for a change but he'll stay until he dies.

you can't leave florida for a better job in college, maybe if he got a shot in the NFL
florida is up their with bama, ohio state, lsu, etc. where it doesn't get much better
I think he only leaves if he gets a shot at the nfl

McElwain for SEC coach of the year. The Gators did good getting him. Did not expect him to turn Florida around this fast

Anyone who has been an AD as long as he has is going to have mistakes. Everyone is free to their opinion and you clearly don't like the guy, but IMO you are pretty far off base with some of those criticisms. Every school in the conference tries to emulate the all around program Foley has built.

I have never gotten the impression he was an a-hole. I was showing some friends the trophy room through the windows one day it was closed, Foley saw us and wanted to know if we'd like a tour. He proceeded to personally show us around the facility.

Shut the hell up.

Seriously. This it this most ludicrous post I have ever seen. Jeremy Foley made Florida athletics what they are. We have built the top notch facilities before, and now they're being upgraded again to maintain those facilities.

Championships are what matter. Under Foley, we have won the All-Sports Trophy every single year for like 26 years straight. Foley is the best thing to ever happen to UF Athletics.

Florida most certainly does have a national brand. Why else do you think that it is almost undoubted that Florida is one of tge top 5 jobs in the entire country? Judging by your username I assume you are probably an alter, but come on man. You know Foley is the best in the business. There is no way Florida would ever fire him, and people need to appreciate him more. I'm sure a school like FSU or Tennessee or Georgia or USC would all LOVE to have an AD as good as Jeremy Foley.

Eh...That's like saying Les stocks blunt wrappers in the Locker room and looks the other way unless a player's dealing.

Grier's dad is clearly a body builder type he probably hooked the kid up and didn't check.

I agree. I'm actually excited to see how this rivalry develops every year. As much as I want to hate Miles for doing his fake punt/kick shite to us repeatedly, I can't hate him. I'm mesmerized when he gives interviews, and he seems to be a great guy.

I'm really digging coach Mac, we have a good one.

McElwain is night and day difference from Muschamp. It's freaking amazing what he's been able to do in less than a year.

I like and respect him based on his post game interview and I'm pretty sure he would be a great guy to have a beer with and talk about football and life. The things he said tell me he is a great leader and as a result I think he will do great things at Fla.(dammit)
