I am sure you were really happy with his performance against UF. If AU would have beaten him Saturday, the fans would have been screaming.

Even the most sidewalk of sidewalk UGA fans thinks Pruitt is doing as good or better than expected with the shitty hand he was dealt. Inheriting all of Grantham's dumbasses and then losing almost the entire secondary in the offseason was not something most people could do anything with.
His recruiting class for next year though is . Sucks for Auburn.

I know it didn't happen, but what would be worse? Pruitt making those comments or a FSU fan saying cheaters never win. FSU is winning largely because crimes committed by half their football team have been covered up by the Tallahassee police

No. But one game doesn't get someone fired.
His body of work overall has been good considering the attrition in the secondary.

No we wouldn't have.

No one expected the defense to be good this year.

quote:All Pruitt & the new "D" coaches have done is drop the scoring average down from 29ppg to 21 ppg...dropped our ttl "D" from 45th to 21st in the nation... increased our TO margin from #101 (-7) to #2 (+16) in the nation. That's after kicking off 3 starting DB's for attitude/weed probs. 2 went to Louisville & 1 to AU...

I love how people throw out stats from last year to make a point. What they fail to add is the SEC East is a poor as it has been in the last 10 years. UF and SC are having poor years. TN still struggles and Vandy is back to normal. UGA doesn't play UA, LSU or any of the MS Schools. My
guess is those number would have been the same under last years DC.

True that. I find that pretty ironic myself.

Me too, seeing as how it can show where a team has improved from one year to the next.

Oh. Well, I guess you're right. Schedule must account for the whole touchdown less that UGA's Defense is giving up, the 24 spot jump in total defense, and the - wait for it - 99 SPOT JUMP IN TURNOVER MARGIN. But you're right, even Grantham would have been able to do all that plus hold Auburn to its lowest offensive output ever under Gus Malzahn.

But what it does note is AU has scored 17 points against Pruitt's Defense in their last 6 qtrs, 10 in the 2nd half of the BCSNCG game & 7 in 4 qtrs Saturday...
Also Pruitts D held AU to 150yds rushing (vs their 272yd avg) & 142 yds passing (vs their 212 yd avg)...
You like how I threw out them stats?? not from last year, those are from Saturday frickin' night...

If you are Comparing Apples to Apples, it might mean something. In the NFL with the parity and the minimal team makeup changes, you can use it as a legit argument. In College Football, schedules change and team makeup changes from year to year. Look at MSUs out of Conference Schedule and tell me that would not allow a team to skew the stats. The only people who use College Football stats to
predict a teams outcomes ,are the idiots who buy the betting services crap.

Uga's d hadn't been strong, but I've never heard a dawg fan bitch about him yet. It's more of a personnel issue.
