Referring to records, the attorneys said the victim was contacted by Franklin and Galt during a medical examination four days after the rape to explain "that they cared about her because she assisted them with recruiting."
It went on to say that at some point, "Coach Franklin called her in for a private meeting and told her he wanted her to get fifteen pretty girls together and form a team to assist with the recruiting even though he knew it was against the rules. He added that all the other colleges did it."
Holy shite

highly doubt that.
Elaborate?
My perspective is that Penn State isn't just sensitive to, they're hyper-sensitive to negative PR right now, and negative PR involve a coach potentially covering up rape, even indirectly...? If he was just in charge but had no involvement, he's a little iffy but not so iffy PSU wouldn't hire him in the first place. But if he stuck his hand in there afterwards and there's reasonable argument that he knew his involvement could have had a demoralizing effect on the victim or charges being brought? I don't see PSU letting that slide, not with the public relations issues.

Good Lord, Franklin is a massive POS.

Oh, if that holds up, Franklin's out of job. No way Penn State keeps him on. It would be a total PR disaster for them in light of recent events.
which is why people have been saying from the get go that it was moronic for PSU to even consider a coach who has something like this floating over him.

I certainly agree with this. It should've been Schiano

How much would vandy fans enjoy Franklin getting fired

There's always been strong suspicion that Franklin or someone directly on that staff was involved in some way BUT if this is the same attorney Vandenburg had earlier - that attorney has done shady shite in the past. This is jaw dropping but Vandenburg's attorney is human slime (he's the guy that gives all other attorneys a bad name).

People up there have already forgotten about the Paterno scandal. The boosters are currently building an off campus Paterno statue right now. Unless something much worse comes out about Franklin.....like proof he asked the girl not to talk, nothing will come of this besides a few attention seeking sports articles being written.

Yep, been saying it since the day he Vandy hired him.
Gotta believe Penn St checked into this because this rumor(coaches cover up) was out there long before they hired him.

That seems to be coming to light.
He had me fooled..

That rumor has been there since this story broke.

Me too. This was the guy I wanted at A&M if we didn't land Sumlin.
I'm not going to throw him under the bus without more facts coming out, but the smoke is building.

Surprisingly, I wouldn't take personal pleasure in him being fired in itself. I'd take pleasure in him being fired for involvement in the rape scandal, if it turns out to be true, but I'd take that same pleasure if he was still our coach. POS don't deserve to be head coaches at D1 universities.
I wouldn't, however, mind in the least if he lost every game he coaches at PSU regardless of whether he was involved. Sure, that'll end up with him getting fired anyway, but it's hardly my fault that football programs demand wins, right?

Sumlin comes across as a nice guy. Franklin has always been a douchebag - he'd make a fool of himself on twitter bashing recruits who rejected him, deny he was talking about them, and was generally an a-hole. The only thing good about him is that he fired Vandy up but I know Lane Kiffin 2.0 when I see him and that's exactly what Franklin was/is.
That said, just because the guy is a douchebag doesn't mean he's a criminal douchebag. We'll have to wait and see on that.

The fans may have "forgotten" (I assume you mean effectively, not literally) but I assure you the administration hasn't. Two (three?) former administrators are still awaiting trial over their involvement in the scandal. It's still going strong.
