For anyone that doesn't know, when Saban took the Dolphins job, he recommended to the LSU administration that we hire Houston Nutt.

Add Gary Patterson to the list.
Although the first call would have to be to Saban. I think that ship has sailed at this point, but nonetheless that would HAVE to be the first call.

muschamp is the only one of those four that i think would be a moderately likely hire. nothing wrong with harbaugh but I don't know of any connections with LSU or football in the south - my uninformed perception is that he would stay on the west coast or move on to coach in the pros rather than the SEC

It doesn't matter because after LSU wins the SEC West this year Miles will get an extension.

probably because he knew he'd be back in the SEC West in a couple of years. Nutt sucks and doesn't belong in the SEC.

The head coach in waiting died at Bama when Dubose was shown the door.
I imagine Bama would go after one of the Utah coaches or Patterson at TCU. Butch Davis might be in play be then.
I get the impression Harbraugh is waiting for an NFL gig.

Lot of interesting responses, especially considering all the hell we took from everyone for wanting rid of Goober Nutt. We were branded delusional for wanting something better.
I would think LSU would seriously consider Bo Pelini. Judging by last year, he is doing some great things at Nebraska. It wasn't very long ago, they were getting beat like rented mules regularly.
