Hmmmm......
Well I suppose I wouldn't be dumbfounded if it happened. In my opinion though, college basketball is only becoming increasingly monopolized by the blue blood schools and they will continue to win the titles. Plus, I think Mike Anderson's system is harmed by the new "hand-guarding" and other overly sensitive foul rules that the NCAA has implemented. On top of that, a team with good guards who can handle and distribute the ball at a high level will typically have no problem with the press and subsequently pick apart the "40 minutes of hell".
But as I said...I'm not saying I'm right or looking to argue.....those are just my opinions on the matter.

Your opinions don't bother me. I think Anderson can recruit like crazy here, after a little bit of success. If Butler can make a few FFs in this day and age, I see no reason why we can't get up in all that again.

I'll admit that was the one exception that crossed my mind when I was making my post, and Arkansas has a world of more reasons to have that success than Butler does. Hence why I said, I wouldn't be shocked if Arky pulled it off....just skeptical of it happening. Plus I'll admit my bias that I've never been a big Anderson fan...even during his time at Mizzou.

I probably share your critiques of his style. Its the same shite people said about Nolan here, too, though.

Maybe so. Nolan was before my time
but hey, it worked very well for him and that's all that matters. We shall see if it works the same for Mike. This season is certainly a trend in the right direction for him.

VCU says differently.
Mike has done plenty of adjusting this year and he will continue to do so based on his squad.
The 1994 team didn't press as balls out as everyone thinks. It wasn't like the 1990 FF team. I expect the same from Mike as he picks up recruiting.
Once the practice facility is complete and we make some noise in the NCAAs, I think things will continue to look up for us.
Saying someone is going to win a title is a total crapshoot. Look at Kansas, they finish top 5 in recruiting every year, go deep into the NCAAs and sitll have only managed to win 1 under self.... It's hard as hell to win it all. Same thing for Kentucky, they've only managed it once under Cal..

I agree with that, same as football - rules committee has pussified both. Won't allow much aggression on defense in either sport.
It does work a little against us, but we just have to overcome it with decent shooting and/or forcing a lot of turnovers.

Is Arkansas a "basketball school" yes. Just don't get ahead of yourself by comparing yourself to schools like Arizona which at one point made some 25 straight NCAA tournaments
Gtown has one title in the 80's and only 5 Final Fours in 29 NCAA's.
Arizona only has 1 title in 1997 and 4 Final Fours in 30 NCAA's

I want you to prove the Hogs are not historically better or at least on par with The Cuse, Zona, and Georgetown with facts...not opinions ...Like I said: "There is much Ignorance on the rant." Arkansas is much better Historically than many "Basketball schools" A program like Memphis cant carry Arkansas' jock strap in the historical sense...Not bad for a football school.
