It's funny, every time Ole Miss has had b2b 8+ win seasons since Johnny Vaught, the coach of that team has had Ole Miss on probation thereafter. Billy Brewer won 8 games in 1989 and 9 games in 1990. Just a few years later, Ole Miss was hammered with a two year bowl ban, a 1 year TV ban and severe scholarship restrictions. Houston Nutt and Hugh Freeze have both accomplished that feat, and Ole Miss' current investigation encompasses the tenure of both coaches. But who says you have to cheat at Ole Miss to be competitive?
