It would be funny if Butch managed to win 9 or 10 games and got an extension while Gruden goes to A&M or something

They can't afford Botch's buyout, let alone pay the fired coach that much.

We're not poor but even if we were it wouldn't matter. Gruden would pay us cuz he loves Rocky Top and is a giving kinda dude. This is known.

Smart is an elite recruiter if he improves his coaching he could be great. Y'all get Gruden who is proven great and a big name for recruits and Mcelwain is pulling together a decent class and isn't a bad in game coach. Bring on the bEAST!

Just give em a football scholly. Lets be real, that would be towards the bottom of the "that looks shady" list presently circling the SEC.

I don't get the fascination with this guy. He ia not that good a coach. Won a SB with a team someone else constructed.

In college you dont have to be that good of a coach to be a HC. What he brings to the table would make him great in college as long as he gets some good coordinators.

ETA, but he aint leaving his 6.5 million cushy job that requires little work throughout the year.

Clay Travis was telling Tennessee to pay Saban $10 mil a year and it would be a done deal

I love the wood that UT fans have for Chucky (pun intended). Every year, every frickin' year, they start the stories ("my cousin works at a gas station where Gruden gets his roller food, and he overheard........"). Penthouse Magazine would be proud. This story line will spread through Volnation like wildfire.

In the mean time, they'll skip over the line that reads "Former Bucs head coach Jon Gruden wants to coach in the NFL again."

TN does have a NFL town. But it ain't Knoxville.

Vols are used to operating in the red.

Gruden is already paying VOLS for his son's tuition. I believe he would work for free.

Tennessee is too incompetent to hire him.
