I mean, it has been expected for a week or so, but I don't think we all knew it would happen this year.

T-shirt time in T-Town. The Alabama posters here seem happier about UAB's demise than when they beat Auburn three days ago.

Maybe they should concentrate on winning that shitty conference.

I'm glad the schollys will be honored. Didn't expect anything less though. I'm sure 90% will transfer somewhere else though. May be a few good ones to pick from.

That RB, Jordan Howard - a sophomore - is a beast. Teams will be after him.

Damn, wouldn't want to be a Bammer going in for a lapband today.

Seriously, though-- UAB Players you know who to blame and how to get payback--

Are you new here?

They could give a rat's arse about UAB - school none of them went to (but I did). It all has to do with bashing anything and everything related to the University of Alabama. Kinda pathetic.

My honest guess is that they don't like being portrayed as the villain and have taken it out on UAB.

But, I'm sure some of them just mimic what the UA powers that be want, and that is to destroy UAB's program for some reason.

No, I just don't care anything about UAB. I was just curious because I saw their program was shut down and some Bama fans seemed to have a chip on their shoulder about UAB for some reason.

How do you not have a really good kicker there?

Adam Griffith started almost perfect but has been dealing with what Saban's called a 'medical issue' since about mid-season that has clearly limited him.

He didn't play at all against WCU and only handled the kickoff (which Saban has now said was a planned onside kick that didn't hop) and the last XP. I figured the last XP was akin to what he did in putting Vogler in for the mercy knee.

Unless whatever's wrong turns out to be chronic. I think Griffith will prove to be pretty good with a chance to be great. He's already made a kick with the game on the line, which is something Cade Foster couldn't manage in three years.

What has me surprised is that we've actually got a backup kicker that can reliably hit XPs and short kicks. I didn't think we had a soul after Griffith.

If as few as 1% of those MDs gave a shait, UAB would still have a football program.

Not sure how many old timers we have here, but a lot of older Bama fans have a long-standing hatred of anything and everything UAB because of Gene Bartow. In the early 90's, after Wimp Sanderson repeatedly beat him out for top in-state basketball talent, he reported the Sanderson to the NCAA and also dragged Bear Bryant into it, even though Bryant has been dead for nearly a decade. He later was forced to issue an apology over it, but the damage was done and there's been bad blood ever since.

I saw this kid kick in HS. I thought he would be an All American by now. Not trolling, but kicker has been sort of an achilles heel for you guys.

Odd, those usually don't arise til the offseason when it's time to #process some inventory.

This. Where were these people for the last 24 years?

Certainly not going to the games.

On another note--why didn't they drop down to FCS or something?
