OP is correct. Clemson will beat VT by 30. Playoff committee will avoid having to do anything controversial.

Not that it matters cause Washington will be 4 and Alabama 1 but I bet if Clemson wins they swap the 2 and 3 rankings. That way they can say "look, we punished OSU for not playing in the championship".
And then Clemson destroys Ohio State wearing Orange as opposed to White... Just like last time.

All fine and good, but Michigan is not ranked either #1 or #2 in their conference, and it wouldn't surprise me if they are picked.....simply because of Jim Harbaugh.
I don't get the Harbaugh love. Is he good? Yes. But he has never even won his conference. Not in the Big 10 and not in the PAC at Stanford.

I won't believe tOSU until I see it. 2011 Bama is the reason there is no longer a BCS. Do they want 2016 tOSU to be the reason there is no longer a CFP committee? Don't think so. Of course it could be that if 2011 Bama had been tOSU there would still be a BCS.
If Clemson struggles with VT, I look for Washington to go to #3 and CU drop to #4. For a couple of reasons. Would prevent the possibility of an undesired NCG rematch. Would give the Peach Bowl the much desired SEC/ACC match up and give the Fiesta Bowl the much desired Big 10/Pac 12 match up.

Yes they will. OSU will be in the playoffs. They will not drop them 3 spots to miss the playoffs. I will be shocked if they do.

They dropped TCU 3 spots and they played a game. Won a conference game 55-3!!! tOSU is not even playing.

They beat OSU.
Big10 considered toughest conference this year.
PSU as Big10 champ is in. And they're good. They'd be 2nd in the SEC to Bama most likely.
OSU is SOL. They should have beaten PSU.

I think Clemson has an unimpressive win vs. VT and Washington leaps Clemson and gets the #3 spot.
Call me crazy, but I think Washington beats Ohio State and plays Bama for the natty

I dont know if OSU makes the playoff. They don't deserve to make the playoff as its setup now without some big upsets.

Playoff scenarios
1 & 2 spots are Bama & tOSU depending on Alabama win or loss in SECCG
3 spot Clemson with win uDub with Clemson loss
4 spot uDub with CU win, PSU/Wisky winner with CU loss
If Clemson wins there will be a lot of meetings about playoff expansion , if they lose we stay at 4 till contract is over

Doesn't matter where Michigan is ranked in the Big 10. Only matters where they are ranked in the final CFP rankings. Just as it didn't matter where Bama and LSU were ranked in the SEC in 2011. Mattered only that they were ranked #1 and # 2 in the final BCS rankings.

tOSU is the he one scenario that allows a non conf champ to make it in, SOS, 1 loss only, division title tie, and multiple 2 loss conf champs. Translation they are in.
Michigan has 2 losses and no div title much less conf title- goodbye
OU/tOSU- both with multiple losses plus OOC losses- goodbye

It's not about fair, it's about ratings and $$, it's been that way since 2010 when Cam was declared eligible.

This true , but she he committee is not like a poll. They by rule re rank teams each week staring over. See TCU blowout win filled by 3 spot loss

PSU beating OSU is greater than all of this -->

You can't look at what they did in 2014 as the model for this season. Baylor, TCU, and OSU all had one loss. Ohio State had just beat a top 15 team by 50 points.
There are only four teams with zero or one loss this year, not six. Ohio State, by the committees way of seeing things, has a great resume. They are in.

Except that by the end of the day, PSU's resume is going to be better.
PSU plays today
OSU does not
PSU wins a championship today

PSU owns head to head against OSU

Current rankings:
1) Bama
2) OSU
3) Clemson
4) Washington
If Bama and Clemson win today, the top four rankings will most likely be the same as they are now.
The CFP Commitee ranks the teams based on their win/loss resumes (strength of record). Conference championship is merely one of several tie breakers used only if teams' resumes are essentially equal.
Washington's resume has now improved enough to secure them at #4, but their resume still won't be better than or equal to any of the three teams ranked ahead of them (assuming Bama & Clemson win).
Also, if Bama and Clemson win, the winner of the Penn State vs. Wisconsin game won't get in, because adding that one high-quality win to their resume still won't be enough to make up for having two losses.
Bottom line: If Bama & Clemson win today, the current top four is not likely to change at all.

Resume is deeper than three items. Ohio State has more impressive wins, oh, and in case you forgot, has one loss. Losing is supposed to hurt.

i think at auburn, at gtech, at FSU, and Louisville is better than that. neither Michigan or Wisky have good offenses and OU's defense is saran wrap.
