SEC formed in 1932, Tulane was a charter member.

1939 was a crazy year.

Tennessee is #1 in the country on November 18th, beats Vandy (who finishes 2-7) by 13 and drops to #4. Texas A&M is #2 on November 18th, beats Rice (who finishes 1-9-1) by 19 and jumps to #1.

That Tennessee team is the last college football team to complete a regular season without being scored on.

Nope...got screwed by the AP.

Wound up losing the Rose Bowl...George Cafego (4th in the Heisman vote and #1 NFL Pick that year) was injured and couldn't play.
