It wasn't long ago that the common wisdom of the rant thought Bert was a great coach

Common wisdom among the fans rarely gets it right when it comes to coaching evaluation.
That is all.

You will never find a post where I said he was a good coach.

There's not many Aubbies here that ever thought Bert was even ok. BP was their only hope and they fired him.

Bert has to be gone after yesterday, right?

I remember when ATM thought Sumlin was on the wagon. Or is it off the wagon, not sure. Anyway I don't remember the last time ATM beat LSU, too long.
ATM should never laugh at another coach knowing what happens the second half of EVERY season.

Bert has a 15 million dollar buyout.
These insane buyout amounts for these mediocre coaches are just insane.

If you take a trip to the way back machine of 2013
I said he was a clown coach then, and I said it again in 2014, and I'll say it again now
Dude sucks

He was successful at Wisconsin...but did piggyback Barry Alvarez

What's weird about Bert is that he usually gets his shite together for one or two games late in the year and the beat someone they're not supposed to be.

I'm pretty sure most of us thought he was the best we could have reasonably gotten post BP. The last two years have kind of put it into perspective that BB can't put together a whole season.

They actually wanted GUS MALZAHN instead of two-ton-tony, but were just too proud to beg The bad part is that they could have had him cheap, right after the UGAY and/or UPDYKE games the last 3 years. Now, that we are teaching him how to be HC, they are no longer in the picture, no matter how much they cry, plead and beg. Sorry piggies, its your sty, wallow in it

Buyouts are a way to allow sorry and lazy coaches to keep their jobs! Agents ruining college football!!!!!!!!!

I thought he would be a solid coach. But I as skeptical because of the big 10 being weak when he did well at Wisconsin. But the lack of in state recruiting talent has led to failure. Arky can be a particularly tough job without Texas connections.

Jeff Long made a mistake in extending Bielema's contract after beating Texas in that bowl game. The buyout reflects the length of his contract, and now we are gonna have to pay it. This guy won't be our coach next season one way or another, and hopefully Long sees this and pulls the trigger soon.
As far as the play this season, we are seeing the results of Bielema changing offensive philosophy with the hiring of Dan Enos. Don't get me wrong, Enos is a great coach, but they don't have the athletes to run his system along the offensive line. Defense? This is a new system. It will take time for Rhoads to get that side of the ball straightened out, and it's time they don't have.

And Wisconsin has arguably gotten better since he left.

I don't think so. I see no advantage to firing a coach halfway through the season unless you really have your ducks in a row.
