This. They are collegiate athletes, they can't take even give them creatine, of course they can't take designer steroids whether they are "legal" or not. I worked with college athletes when I was in grad school, they are explicitly told to not take any supplements that aren't provided by the university athletic department. Andro was legal when Mark McGwire got caught taking it.

that fricking sucks, man. Just watched the presser. Anything OTC should be legal as far as I'm concerned. That's BS, feel sorry for the guy.
These are designer steroids that have 1-2 different chemical mutations that when inserted into the body revert to the main chemical, which is usually an illegal anabolic. A drug test would flag it as abnormally high testosterone, just like injecting test would. The only reason they are OTC is because supplements aren't FDA regulated, so it takes the FDA a little while to find out they are out there and ban them. It will be banned in a year or two and slightly different version will be produced which will start the cycle all over again. Think Andro.

I promise you, these student athletes are educated on this shite. They KNOW what's right and what's wrong.
There are so many supplements out there I doubt they give them a massive list about what they can and can't take. They players are told however, that if they do want to take their own supplements they need to get it approved by the medical staff. Grier didn't do that and now he is paying the consequences. I do feel for the kid because I doubt he was trying to cheat by taking this.
I think it took balls for him to stand in front of the camera and apologize publicly and I respect him for that. I hope that other athletes see this and learn from his mistakes before taking any over the counter supplements.

It's ligandrol. You can't even buy it at gnc

It's marketed as having all of the pros of steroids but only limited side effects.
Which in the supplement industry means exactly nothing LOL. My arse this shite gives you "all of the pros of steroids", that is just comical. This stuff will turn out to be just like all the other "miracle supplements" that the supplement industry has rolled out over the years as "the safe, legal equivalent of steroids!": pure bullshite.

The flu excuse is absolute BS. UF has Shands on campus, so team Physicians are right there. He is well aware if you put anything for flu in your mouth you go to training staff. Grier got busted. If one's doing it, more are doing it.

So the guy put on 47 pounds of muscle in one year and thought nothing was amiss.
Okay...

crazy low half-life for an orally administered supplement/drug. No wonder he thought he'd get away with it. Most common injectable forms of test have half-life's of 7-10 days.

he's not 215..he addressed that earlier in the season and said that number was exaggerated. I believe he said he was around 205.
Which is about 30 pounds of weight in TWO Full years of college and he was an early enrollee. Also, anyone following this team would know how much this group has benefited from the new strength coach that McElwain brought in.

Granted, I played almost 30 years ago but UF never, ever gave me a supplement. ALL Rice, beens, steak and eggs...

Didn't he gain something like 40 or 45 pounds in a calendar year because of this PED? He should've known that wouldn't fly too well with the NCAA.
