Swapping AU and MU doesn't fix anything you now have both of UA trad rivals in the East.

Bama and AU to the east for MU and Vandy is interesting but you are basically taking 2 of the big 3 in the west. Be honest the others aren't there yet you got keep winning on a more consistent basis before you start claiming your equal with the other 3. 1 season means crap , especially when you all got your pants pulled down in the bowls.
But doing that now gives you 5 traditionally good football teams in the East which is fine and fixes all the rivalries , except for Vandy UT. but how important is the game? ( serious question to this fans)

I like the no division keep 2-3 permanents. 2 most likely. And rotate the rest with the top 2advancing.

why doesn't it? I can look at a map. But a bigger problem is the Permanents. If we are going to keep divisions we can leave the divisions as they are for balance. Do away with permanent opponents. Pretty stupid that Mizzou will be in the conference for more than a decade before LSU travels there for a game.

Why are so many people in agreement with this statement? There is no way in hell we would ever lose the Iron Bowl. Why would you ever want that?

I don't mind the idea of eliminating divisions with a rotating schedule while keeping the traditional rivalries intact. I'd prefer we just move to the East but the Iron Bowl is what the sport is all about. Why anyone would want to lose that is beyond my comprehension.

Since 1893, the Crimson Tide and Tigers have played 79 times. Guess the sport didn't matter those years the iron bowl didn't happen.

Clearly things have changed quite a bit in the 70 years since the last hiatus. Does that really require an explanation?

Agreed. But the conference has changed. Because of the expansion and each school's desire for more money, other things will inevitably change.

I'm sure we can find a happy medium that we can agree upon somewhere between the status quo and SCORCHED EARTH, NOTHING LIVES policy you seem to be suggesting.

5 SEC bluebloods in 1 division? Thats a major problem, but A wet dream for LSU and potential domination.

Oh, the same level as Aub./Ala. & Miss./MSU in-state rivalry games.

Idk how you would, but UGA, Tenn, aub, and bama need to be in the same division since y'all are the only teams that insist on playing your cross division rivalries, and of course can't do away with the iron bowl.

Other ways would be 9 sec games or add two more teams and go with pods. Sure yalls pod might be unbalanced, but hey you guys want to play each other every year anyway.

Things are cyclical, so if you move bama and auburn east you'd be gaining the best east team the last two seasons to the west. Don't know if mizzou can sustain that. But if tamu ever really gets going, it could balance things out.

I really am starting to like the Alabama/ Auburn swap with Vandy / Mizz.

Who cares if the one division is better on paper. And it's pretty close geographically , Nashville is more East, but barely.

And annual games between AU/UA and UF would be welcome in Gainesville and AU and UT would be great as well, the Dawgs and Bama every year seems natural. If you go to 9 games as well , that would give LSU more opportunity to play more eastern teams often and also , you get that whole MIZZ, ARKY, Tex am, LSU which also feels natural. Plus I don't know how unbalanced it would actually be. Tex am is going to be an anual power there is just too much talent.

East:
Alabama
Auburn
Florida
Georgia
Kentucky
South Carolina
Tennessee

West:
Arkansas
LSU
Missouri
Miss State
Ole Miss
Texas Am
Vanderbilt

Looks pretty good and natural.

In my opinion we should do away with OOC games altogether. Make everyone play everyone else in the SEC for 13 games. OOC games are what the bowl season is for. If you want to make the bowls relevant again, then showcase them as this conference vs that conference. Of course that makes far too much sense to be implemented.

I like it just the way it is. Sure it's a tough row to hoe. But, for whoever wins the west it's a damn fine accomplishment.
And I like playing Alabama, LSU, aTm and Bamalite every year.

Rivalries are what make the game that much better than anything else out there. I am a fan of college football moreso than anything else. Enough of the watering down of the sport I love. The traditions need to stay otherwise it turns into minor league nfl

Play it as one of your non-conference games should you want to keep the "tradition" alive.

Vandy is an East team and always will be. You can wish all you want but that will change nothing.
