It is also factually incorrect to say that Penix was undefeated against good teams and Daniels was 0-3 or 1-4.

It is also factually incorrect to say that Penix "won when everything was on the line" and Daniels did not.

I don't have a dog in that fight but, those are stupid narratives and that kind of sophistry should have nothing to do with the award because it only serves to cheapen it and cfb as a whole.

These responses.

One person makes no point. The next is a snowflake who doesn't understand what a fact is. The next has to fall back to the obligatory ad hominem.

Yep, Bowers deserves the award because he’s the best offensive player in college football, imo.

Given the choice of any player offensively for my team I’d pick him. He would be instantly the best player on our team.

Did you happen to notice how Daniels performed in the loses?

Not exactly his fault LSU has a Swiss cheese defense. It’s a performance award. Plenty of guys with three loses have won the award.

Get it now?

Quarterbacks are judged on wins/losses just like starting pitchers in baseball. Like it or not, that’s the way it is. Daniels simply couldn’t overcome the terrible defensive play and bad coaching from his team. Just another case of a great player on a bad team

You're making my point for me. Very few people don't know that win/loss for starting pitcher is one of the WORST ways to evaluate a pitcher. Just like it's idiotic to judge Daniels/Nix/Penix by the way their TEAM performed. None of them played all 22 positions on every snap. It's a completely stupid way to evaluate them.

So because a bunch of stupid people say something stupid, don't state facts to set the record straight. That's what you're advocating?

Neither did Penix/Nix make their defenses play better. What a dumb statement.

I did. It seems to me that some people are not being objective because they just can't stand to see an SEC rival do well. Daniels was clearly, far and away the better player.

SEC fans want to say the SEC is the toughest conference. Daniels had the better numbers in the tougher conference. It's no contest. Trying to smuggle in team accomplishments is childish.

Not sure why it matters. Jd will win the heisman. A lot of times they don’t give every single award to the eventual heisman winner. It’s kinda rare to have a clean sweep of the awards qualified for by anyone
