Ultimately this. I don't care if Bama beats Auburn by 49-0, or Auburn beats Bama 28-27. They don't put asterisks next to wins because of a losing team's post-rationalization. A win is a win is a win and you frankly shouldn't give a frick about what I think about it.

Exactly and what RT posted.

I'll bite, OP. Auburn was good this year, then we got beat by a mediocre (at best) A&M team at home on a heartbreaking "whoopsie" of a play by our center, and by the looks of things that really fricked with the team as the mental wheels began flying off for the remainder of the games. I dunno, maybe we had too many 2012 players with a lot of quit still on the team, maybe the coaches suck in cajoling some fight out of them even though they were eliminated from the playoff, or whatever. Bama played and beat a good but psychologically damaged Auburn team this year. Read whatever you'd like in that.
Anyone with common sense had to know that it would take Gus a long time to get into those 2012 players mental state of mind. Those '12 players are a fragile bunch.

I'd have to think a lot of that has to do with the off-the-field issues - Those guys lost 3 team mates to murder and one to a vehicle accident. AU players have been through a lot of tragic shite in the last few years. Stuff like that either builds team chemistry or divides it.
