Let's hope the Heisman voters learned something by giving this award to Johnny.

I'd imagine they learned not to give it to freshmen...

Why are LSU fans so upset that Chad "4 TDs against LSU" Kelly is a Heisman candidate?

Can someone lookup Swag's stats @Bama last year? Nevermind i got it

18-33, 341 passing yards 3TDs, 1 rushing TD as well

Still can't believe that all came from 1 lucky helmet deflection!

No, because he's going to lose at least 3 games and throw over 10+ INT's. Far from Heisman numbers. That's not a knock on him though. Chad is a hell of a QB, but the circumstances just don't play in his favor.

How do you know hes going to lose 3 games and throw 10 INTs? He only had one INT in the last 4 games of the season and the one he did have was the receivers fault he bobbled it.

Losing 2 off the offensive line to the draft and counting on young players can be the demise of a good QB. If you lose a starter, it's going to be a long season for swag. Hell, it pisses me off that we couldn't provide Dak with a LT that was better than an ex-TE.

NFL.com from yesterday:

16 for 16: Top 2016 Heisman Candidates

quote:

8. Chad Kelly, QB, Ole Miss
Kelly is the definition of a gunslinger at the quarterback position, combining an arm that can make any throw with a killer instinct. The nephew of Buffalo Bills great Jim Kelly is the best returning quarterback in the SEC, and in Hugh Freeze's fast-paced offense, he'll pile up big numbers.

Bovada Releases Early Heisman Odds for 2016 Season

quote:

Deshaun Watson, QB, Clemson - 9/2
Leonard Fournette, RB, LSU - 5/1
Christian McCaffrey, RB, Stanford - 5/1
J.T. Barrett, QB, Ohio State - 10/1
Baker Mayfield, QB, Oklahoma - 10/1
Nick Chubb, RB, Georgia -12/1
Dalvin Cook, RB, Florida State - 12/1
Royce Freeman, RB, Oregon - 12/1
Chad Kelly, QB, Ole Miss - 12/1
Samaje Perine, RB, Oklahoma - 12/1
Calvin Ridley, WR, Alabama - 12/1
Joshua Dobbs, QB, Tennessee -16/1
Brad Kaaya, QB, Miami -25/1

They gave the Heisman to Jameis Winston in the midst of sexual assault charges so I'm not really buying them being all that hung up on character post-Reggie Bush at this point. If he's able to overtake players on the list ahead of him with potential stats this season, unless he's ruled ineligible by an investigation, they're not going to care that he played on the team with a kid who got paid.

Obviously Watson, McCaffrey, or Fournette is going to be hard to beat for it. If Chubb is healthy he'll be one to look out for as well. But shitting on Ole Miss for starting a Heisman campaign with the numbers he put up last season is hilarious. He may not be top 3, but he's in the conversation and far enough in that the publicity can only help (and yes, publicity matters in these campaigns).

Best that money can buy???

You have no depth and Rod Taylor won't make it through the season. Hell, he broke his shoulder fighting air.
