We are Auburn. We aren't making the NCAA tourney. Even if we are on the bubble. UK on the bubble...sure. AU on the bubble...no chance in hell.

You say this, but Kentucky's bubble chances got popped 2 years ago. The people at the NCAA selection committee aren't the biggest Cal fans hence the insane paths they've had to take in the tournament since he's been there.

Auburn will be competitive this year, but I still think Bruce is a recruiting class or two away from turning things around.

Plus the bubble thing really depends on the strength of the conference, which I think will be much better this season.

Don't underestimate what a great coach Pearl is. He took Tennessee to the dance in year 1, following Jerry Greens flame out and an abysmal era under Buzz Peterson. Dude knows his shite.

That roster was in much better shape though when he took over. He had Chris Lofton, who went down as one of the all-time best shooters in SEC history, and CJ Watson, who most recently was getting significant minutes on the #1 seed in the Eastern conference this past year.

The situation he is stepping into is a bit more difficult at Auburn. I have no doubt that he will succeed at Auburn it is just a matter of to what degree and how quickly. I'm mainly jealous because he is the perfect hire for a "football school." Other guys can be great hires X's & O's wise, but outside of Calipari I can't think of anyone who is better at selling a program better than Bruce.

I am extremely interested to see how the Under Armour stuff impacts his recruiting too. It is crazy how much the shoe game has an impact on CBB recruiting.

I think y'all have a good of chance of anyone not named Kentucky or Florida.

And damn am I jealous of y'all landing Ben Simmons. This upcoming class is considered really weak outside of him and a few other guys basically.

You are right. He took over at Tennessee when they had some very good under the radar talent, I just believe Pearl is exceptional at getting the most out of any player he coaches. He did this at UW-Milwaukee. Alabama was superbly more talented during that 05' tourney game, but Pearl coached Gottfried out of the building.

Our OOC schedule probably means NIT this year, but if we enter SEC play with a respectable OOC record, we will dance.

No.

I would be surprised if Tyndall doesn't eventually get us there, but not this year.

8-4 or 9-3 would get us on the bubble with a good year in conference.

You would need to win 15 conference games to be on the bubble with your schedule. I just don't see Auburn being good enough yet to accomplish that. Maybe after another good recruiting class.
