He had a better yard per carry average than Trent. Not his fault that teams keep defying logic and giving Trent more chances to carry the ball than they gave him.

Heath Shuler was a pretty big bust. That Florida qb Danny wuerful (sp) sucked it up pretty bad.

Ki-Jana Carter's career got fricked by injuries. There's really nothing the guy could have done to prevent it. Just really bad luck.

Richardson, on the other hand, is just lazy.

Reading this thread really shows how much Auburn and Alabama fans despise each other. They follow the other teams players in the NFL just to hope that they fail. lol part of me loves the passion, another part of me thinks it's a little too far.

If Trent isn't the biggest bust, who is?

1988...pick #1...Atlanta Falcons...Aundray Bruce...Linebacker...Auburn

Although he was the first overall pick, Bruce started only 42 games in his 11-year career... He never lived up to the high expectations and was regarded as a bust.

At least Aundray played 11 years. Trent won't make it half that long unless he dramatically improves. Next year will be his 3rd team in 4 years

Yeah, Mason was drafted as a 3rd rounder and became a productive starter by the end of the year. What a bust that guy is...

Behind a cruddy OL and no pass game he was near 5YPC. Sounds like a solid 3rd RD pick.

You don't understand sarcasm, do you? He was implying that mason has done very well.

And I agree. Mason is fine and is very good. He'll continue to be good and get better with more experience. In the NFL you really do need 2-3 solid backs because of the pounding they take. They will be a good compliment to each other.

What about Herschel Walker?

He was so damn dumb (or scared to play against the best defensive players) he picked the USFL over the NFL.

NFL stats once he USFL folded:

632yds / season
4.69 TD's / season

Tre will start once gurley gets hurt 3 games into the season.

Tre will start at the beginning of the season. He knows the offense and is a very good back. I'm not real sure why so many Auburn fans seem to want to belittle Gurley. Tre Mason does not need your help. He can hold his own as a NFL back. Gurley will be just fine, too. They will both be very good.

Ummm...I believe it was the money? The NFL would not/could not draft him as a senior then, the USFL did and threw a boatload of money at him.

You don't know what you are talking about. He played in the NFL from 1986 to 1997. That's 11 seasons, MUCH more than the average NFL running back today. he was so highly thought of that the Cowboys traded him to the Vikings for half their team and most of their draft picks for the next several years. And this was after playing 3 years in the USFL. One year the Cowboys gave him the ball 361 times. 14 Professional seasons. Not bad.

Walker gained 8,225 rushing yards, 4,859 receiving yards, and 5,084 kickoff-return yards.[49] for 18,168 total combined net yards, ranking him second among the NFL's all-time leaders in total yardage as of his retirement

It was a good move. More teams should invest a top 10 pick for good backups.

Can't tell if trolling or just really stupid. I'm leaning toward both.

Win-win for the Rams. Take a chance on Todd(who has Adrian Peterson potential) and hope he's ready by week 1. If he's not you still have a great back in Tre Mason to ride and give Gurley all the time he needs.

You people act like its a knock on Mason that they took another RB. I'm sure both are thankful they have someone to split carries with and maybe prolong their already short RB career by a few more seasons?

This. Most teams split carrries with 2 RB's anyway.

Phillips, Leaf, Carter, Thomas, Wilkinson, Russell, Rodgers, Klinger, Ware were bigger busts than Richardson.Richardson had a 1100 yard rookie season I believe.

Bosworth was a supplemental draft pick if I'm not mistaken, so he doesn't belong either.

Walker earned 3 Super Bowls for the Cowboys.

Mason isn't a bust like Richardson.

Rams knew they needed a solid backup for Mason because Zac Stacy wasn't cutting it. Typical Vandy busts
