All Tennessee needs is a coach who can recruit nationwide. Tennessee high school football is good but not great.

To me, the Vols still have the prestige and history. It is a premier program that could disintegrate in the next decade is the powers don't quit horsing around and bring in the staff it needs.

It is a good team now, but no way does it compare to the ones of past.

Florida wasn't the only SEC team that won 100-plus games in the 1990s.

I remember a funny article last year that said Arkansas was the worst fanbase because they ride the coat tails of their division. Seems to be true here

Agree. Cross-division rivals is a dumb idea. SEC needs to suck it up, give up a cupcake game, and play 9 SEC games with rotating cross-division foes.

Meh, Nashville is really good and Memphis is outstanding. Fulmer OWNED those two towns along with Charlotte/west North Carolina and Atlanta. There was no need for him to nationally recruit. He fielded great teams in an area from Memphis down to Hunstville across to Atlanta and Western North Carolina. Honestly, most of Fulmer's recruits were no more than 4 hours away. He pulled some from Cali, Ohio, LA, etc but not like you think.

Problem is, Butch isnt signing those guys from those areas.

Memphis is 500-plus miles away. Nashville is 250 or thereabouts. I should have said that Tennessee HS football is not Florida, nor Southern California.

That is an amazing thing about Bama. Here it sits in the middle of the Deep South and cherry picks the states around it.

Fulmer never owned Charlotte, though I found out he had an apartment there. Instead, Florida got Leak. While Tennessee has had great success in the North Carolina mountains, it has not been the case in the Piedmont or the coastal area of N.C. It did a great job in Georgia for several years, but that has slowed considerably.

As for South Carolina, it has been owned for the past several years by Carolina, Clemson and Georgia.

I doubt they were complaining from about 95-07. saban won't be at bama forever.

Still pathetic UT hasn't even beaten them once.

Well I guess Florida really sucks since LSU has won 5 of the last 6.

Tool.

Frankly, it's true, most UF fans realize we have been pretty lousy per Gator standards the last 7 years.

The SEC would be stronger if Alabama moved to the East and Missouri moved to the West.
Alabama could run the table there and be healthier for championship games.
SEC Championship would be worth watching instead of the usual slaughter.

Not to mention LSU may not have many returning starters next year.

Let's get one thing clear. Tennessee does not want to give up Bama. Rocky Top hope springs eternal.

I have friends from Knoxville to Memphis and every single one hates Bama with a passion. They hate Florida about half as much.

We always get Auburn on the years they're great and the Mississippi schools a couple of years ago were when they were great and we were horrible... We always seem to get the 2nd best team in the west plus Alabama

SCAR has had the toughest SEC West schedule for the better part of since the first expansion. That's historical fact. Not every season mind you, but most.

I like this idea. That or just pay Saban off to retire.

Nope, not really

You could also say Bama being in CFB is unfair as well

Rolls will be reversed at some point when Saban retires. Don't forget that UT won 10 of 11 prior to bamas current streak.

At this point, the only thing that could stop Bama is if Saban gets caught running a child pornography ring.

Most of that time we were on probation and everyone was beating us.

Not the case anymore. Dabo is no Shula.
