Watson will probably win it. Way too long of a post to troll us. Come up with something more simple my man.

Plus you have to factor in his impact in the return game for his team.

Why? Any Heisman worthy skill position player would do well on returns.

The only legit contenders I can see who are not receiving false hype would be Chubb or Kelly.

Good troll, I think the Heisman hype is really wide open. There are a dozen players good enough to win the award and it is not McCaffery's to lose, he and his team will have to perform to win the award.

People do look at how each player plays in the big tough games and a team with a high winning percentage is typical these days. If Stanford has a 8 win season his chances are slim.

Chubb and Kelly are great players

Kelly's team lost a lot of talent to the draft

Chubb is coming off a injury

Watson the Clemson QB is high on the list

Fournette cannot be counted out

Some one from Alabama will climb up to the top of the list during the season

Ward from Houston is good

Rosen from UCLA

Mayfield and Perine from Oklahoma

Someone not mentioned here could emerge and the award lately has a lot to do with how well the team performs

No. There is a legit push to promote/push more black QBS to get past that "whites only" stigma. Hasn't been "whites only" in a long time.

No. Deshaun Watson's to lose. It favors QBs.

Next would come Fournette and then maybe McCaffery.

Who was the last preseason favorite who actually won it? Troy Smith?

All purpose yards are stupid.

I can't help but roll my eyes when people try to compare him to Barry Sanders.

Fournette can all BUT be counted out. Fournette's problem is his coaches. LSU's offense is too one-dimensional to allow Fournette to gain big yards in tough games. If a team has a good rushing defense, all they have to do is stack the box against LSU and dare LSU to pass the ball to win the game. And LSU can't do that. So unless by some miracle LSU has developed a passing attack this offseason, Leonard Fournette will go down as the second best running back in history to be denied a Heisman trophy...behind Darren McFadden of course. And it will be because Les Miles is a poor coach.

Yes , McCaffery had games with big yards but "0" points. He had 8 games with over a 100 yards ... 4 with 1 touchdown and 4 with 0 touchdowns . I agree that Watson is the favorite .

I think you're correct. McCaffery is all around great player. But, this would destroy LSU's dreams of having a Heisman winner.

Conference, schedule and his talent make it so. I still think Leonard can steal it with another solid year.

There isn't a better running back in cfb than McCaffery this season.

Would Watson still be in contention after Clemson loses to florida state?

Watson made his case in the title game. McCaffrey should win it. Depends on how stanford does as a team to be honest. If they are 8-4 he won't even though he probably would deserve it. It really comes down to the best player on the best team. The heisman has gotten away from its true intentions.

Tebow won it on a 8-5 team over a more deserving player the same year.
