Don't understand why you keep saying this? You think we only win one more game this season or something? lol

Even if we do lose those 4 games you mentioned that puts us at 8-4 on the year. That isn't a "long" season at all. Especially for our first in this league.

I'm sure if I cared enough, I could search back and find many posts by you talking about how we would be lucky to win 3-4 games this season.

The reality is that we have not beat a team with a defense yet.

Like I said on the other thread, if we go .500 against LSU, Auburn, State, and Bama, I will say we are "that good" but for now, we need to beat a team with some live bodies on the other side of the field.

We heard this crap two years ago, when LSU went to Texas and destroyed you, after you were coming off a 6 game winning streak....lol.....ok

A&M beat Texas two years ago. You need to go back to 2008 -- A&M's 4-8 year -- to point to Texas's last throttling of A&M.

Guys, VC is not actually looking for a debate or a discussion.

His own argument can be used against him and numerous other teams.
The truth is, the season is too young to make any kind of conclusions.

A&M has played well, even in a loss, therefore we are happy.
Not too hard to understand, even for a person like VC.

A&M might well lose to both Auburn and Miss St, but it is not "very likely" that we will lose to both. That's a push right now.

and very likely not winning AT Auburn and Mississippi St.

Both those games are toss ups. The home teams will be favored (state, anyway) because toss ups on the road should be favored. Doubt the spread is any worse than A*M +3.5 in either game**. To call them "very likely" is a bit of a stretch.

EDIT: ** to add the caveat "at game time"

aTm has an amazing QB. He made my jaw drop last week. Not sure how rusty he was when they played Florida, but now that he's got experience they look awesome.

A great QB changes everything.

At this point in time, I am not sure anyone can say either way.

Florida, the only opponent with a real pulse so far, had to muster together an amazing defensive 2nd half to win. They have not lost since. That defense is comprable to LSUs right now, and Driskell is showing he has what it takes to lead the offense with Gillislee handling the load.

A&M has been clicking on offense recently as Manziel has decided to only ditch the pocket when needed to. Sumlin and Kliff Kingsbury seem to be very good at designing plays towards how others will defend them. They know where the opportunities to gain yards will be and the Aggie players have been buying in and getting those yards.

The defense has given up only 47 points so far this year, averaging less than 12 points a game. Last year at this point, that number was 93 points per game (23.25 points per). The schedules are comparable as well.

2011 from best to worst- Oklahoma St, Arkansas, SMU, Idaho
2012 from best to worst- Florida, Arkansas, SMU, SC St.

Florida is probably a little worse than Oklahoma St was last year, and Arkansas is definitely a lot worse than last years version of themselves, but its not a huge change in talent.

The defense is improved, the offense is explosive. Im excited to see what happens the rest of the way.

For real? Worse pass defense than Baylor?!

I just checked. While Arky's defense is really, really bad, I don't think your rankings are accurate.

to me, there like having a second set of Grinders or Hog fans around here.

it's only Week 5, let them enjoy it. it's cute. they'll know their place before the year is up and will have much less shite to talk soon enough.

they didn't have the talent to compete in the BIG12 for years, they don't have nearly enough to contend for the SEC West.

But they have Johnny Football. Or, even more original, Johnny fricking Football.

TAMU has a good QB and lots of potiental, and could even play the spoiler for some this year, with a chance to compete in the west over the next few years.

I just wish their fans would leave the corny nicknames for LSU and come up with something original for themselves.
