Would you want him coaching your team?

Best Coach ever at Bama

Not yet. He has 4 NC's and 3 SEC's to Bear's 6 NC's and 14 SEC's. Saban is on the level with Wallace Wade (3NC's and 10 Southern Conference's Champs).

Saban is chasing the Bear and if he can get 6NC's I think he may be considered better because a lot of Bear's were split.

Saban is at the best recruiting program in the country. He doesn't do anything to mess that up, therefore, he wins lots of ganes.

Bryant was at Bama when free-range recruiting was a fact of life.

Saban has performed under recruiting rules and restrictions that would have had the Bear reaching for his third bottle of vodka.

Everyone recruited with a free range, thus Bryant had no advantage over his competition

Free-range recruiting? So there were no restrictions, scholly caps? What the hell prevented other programs for doing the same as Coach Bryant?

They did. Bama's rivals like to pretend that only Coach Bryant had an advantage.

Saban or Urban for sure.

Nod likely goes to Urban as of today since he recently beat Saban on the biggest stage with a 3rd string QB.

One of the best! Best in the SEC, that's good enough to win a NC!

Nothing, and other top programs did as well. I think he was giving credit to Saban for doing what he has done with recruiting restrictions Bryant never had to worry about. Can you imagine what Saban could do without restrictions?

Scholly caps for football only came into being toward the end of Bryant's coaching career. 1973/105, 1978/95, and (after Bryant) 1992/85. Even then, Bryant was famous for skirting those restrictions by placing football players on golf/swimming/track/etc. scholarships.

Do you really have Bama with 30 NCs???

Please tell me you are joking.

If not, please check in to the nearest mental institution.

About time the grind started. But in reality, Ohio state had a better team. They win the game in the trenches. Their OL was the best we played, and our secondary was as soft as as hell. That was easily Saban's least talented team that won a championship. I didn't expect to win the SEC last year, and you could've taken Cooper away, and we'd have lost at least 3 regular season games.

I mean Saban isn't that far away obviously, but those three are just as good. Harbaugh's first season with a Michigan team that's been terrible, is 7-2, should be 8-1. Saban didn't do that at LSU or Bama in year 1. He'll have Michigan in the playoffs within the next 3 years. Urban is just as good, and stoops is not far behind.
