No. Is he one of the all time best, yes. And to the above, true! Do you have a clue what "all time" means. That is a lot of years and a lot of great coaches in those two words.

Saban is a great recruiter. No doubt.

It helps he is at Alabama. That program is a machine and even an average recruiter can have very good classes there.

He didn't recruit at LSU like he is at Bama and we have more in state talent and less in state competition.

It's insane the state of Alabama puts two teams in the top 10.

Urban Meyer has to be up there in the all time list because he has recruited at elite levels at two schools in different parts of the country in different conferences.

Also recruited really well at a friggin mid-major.

He is a huge Bama fan, sidewalk fan it appears but huge fan none the less.

He did have a major stake in Rivals.com

Also, wasn't he at Toledo for one year as head coach?

Urban brought Utah to a BCS bowl and had several high NFL draft picks he recruited?

Both are great recruiters, period.

Saying who is best recruiter all time is a dumb thing. Both are top tier though.

Idk what the hell you're talking about but USA, troy, and UAB aren't in the top 10. The state of georgia has a couple up there. UGA and AU

had he stayed, I think he definitely would've been capable of recruiting at that level.

As for the OP, NS is there as one of the best.

eta: I pretty much agree with your other posts in this thread.

Bobby Bowden was the best closer ever. You dont get ranked in the Final 4 for 14 straight years without knowing how to recruit.

I did and thought that he was just another overhyped BigTen HC.

Saban is elite, but it is difficult to truly assess how "good" someone else these days, or at least to separate it from the perception provided by media.

But, that's part of it. Fostering the image and getting the media to sell you to recruits is part of the deal.

To be fair since I'm an Auburn fan, Pearl is the same way. What he did in 72 hours at Auburn is insane, but a lot of that is reputation.
