The Barners came from everywhere to damn Mark Ingram.
Nobody outside of Alabama's fanbase will back up the notion of Mark Ingram not being a bust, and with good reason... Whether it comes from him just not being good enough, having no motivation, or whatever...he has just been bad and his performance hasn't reflected the draft spot he was taken in.

Career stats: 356 carries, 1,462 yards, 11 touchdowns, 4.1 yards per carry. That averages out to 119 carries, 487 yards, and 3.6 touchdowns per season, and that's terrible for a 1st round running back.

In fact, if Mark Ingram would have come out in the 2013 or 2014 NFL Draft, it's likely he wouldn't have been chosen until the 3rd or 4th round, maybe even later than that.

Suh and others taking away some of his stats.

If we can say this, I can't imagine what Dareus would have done without Kyle Williams and Mario Williams taking his stats.

Seriously, can we stop with the "bust" talk? I know y'all are just trolling each other, but these threads are getting tedious because (with one exception that I've seen) they're not actually discussing merits, just attacking/defending players, many of which have barely started their NFL careers.

The San Fransisco 49ers nearly passed on Aldon Smith's 5th year option, and the Denver Broncos almost passed on Von Miller's 5th year option...it isn't always about production. The Detroit Lions, apparently, aren't happy with Nick Fairley work ethic. Not to say it's shitty, it just isn't where they want it to be. He's been a tad bit overweight some of the time he's been in Detroit, as well. Plus, their defensive line is pretty stacked, IMO. Oh yeah, and the coaches that drafted Nick Fairley are all gone (safe assumption on my part).
As I'm sure you're aware, TT, excuses are like assholes so save yours. It probably boils down to $$$. What's his guaranteed salary in his 5th year? If I'm not mistaken, a player whose option isn't picked up, becomes a free agent and can negotiate/sign with any team, so either Fairley isn't good enough for them to pay the salary, or they're not worried (don't care) about the possibility of him going to another team.
In Ingram's case, his 5th year was over 5 mil in salary, and 5 mil will get you a really, really fine RB!
