LSU has had a better program than either of those schools in the last 50 years.

Notre Dame and Texas have 3 national championships in the last 50, LSU has 2...

LSU won a national championship in '03 and '07. They played for another in '11. They won 10 games in '12 and '13. They haven't had a losing season since 1999.

Sounds like you all should do everything you can to keep your coach. Oh wait..

LSU has not gone 5-7 the last 3 seasons like texas university or 4-8 like notre dame

Neither did Texas with Mack Brown or Nortre Dame with Lou Holtz, both National Championship winning coaches. However when they left you began to see both programs teeder-todder up and down

Norte Dame no. Texas yes.

Like Texas they are transitioning from a HOF coach that led them to a great run that was soft & underachieving at the end with a highly publicized departure.

Both schools are TBD status on wether the new guy has the magic. LSU may follow Texas in realizing Orgeron is like Charlie Strong.. a guy you love but a guy that doesn't have the acumen required to run a top 10 program.

LSU may not be a historical top 10 program but they are moving forward. Conference & recruiting territory dictate they are one HC hire away at any time to seriously challenge for titles.

What does that have to do with the fact LSU isn't anywhere near Texas/ND historically?

Since 2010, Texas has had 3 losing seasons. LSU, obviously, has won at least 8 games every year.

There (has been) a gap between LSU and Texas/Notre Dame.

Furthermore, you all can rib Orgeron as much as you want. This isn't 2000-2010 anymore. Outside of Alabama, your coaching staff isn't any better.

Look at LSU historically from 2000-present and then do the same for Texas/ND.

Anything that happened before 2000 P.F. (pre-football) doesn't matter.

Fun Fact Friday:

LSU has lost a GRAND TOTAL of 21 games over the past 7 seasons. Not too bad in the toughest division in college football.

Both are more irrelevant than LSU.

I think he means did LSU screw up and take the path by hiring a shiddy and truly unproven coach that will lead them down the path of mediocrity. There is a valid argument that LSU has taken its first step towards that. The OG poster just didn't convey his message very well. I think Ogeron will either be wildly successful due to him being in his natural environment or dumpster fire like he was at ole miss. Nothing in between.

Both Texas and Norte Dame have over 100 wins more than LSU. Texas has 18 more conference titles, one more Narional Championahip and 6 more unclaimed national Championships one more heisman winner and 20 more all Americans. Norte dame doesn't compete in conferences but they have 8 more national titles to go along with 6 more unclaimed. They have 6 more heisman winners and over 60 more all Americans. LSU simply ain't on their level.

They have been shite garbage programs for the last 40 years. They are has been washed up programs with no chance of coming back.

Niether of those teams are anywhere near what LSU is today.
