LSU has been in three national championship games in the last 13 years...GA zero.
2003 and 2007 are examples of LSU simply being more lucky than UGA.

Which sport? Football? Not close. No one in the West plays as weak a schedule as UGA and has no championships to show for it in 30 years.

Didn't LSU beat UGA twice in 03?

Well... first of all, "championships" would be inaccurate (UGA - 2002, 2005 SEC "Championship" winners). I'll assume for your benefit, that you're referring to "national" championships. Those, however, require not just talent but a fair amount of either a) exceptional coaching (Richt was very good but never great, particularly in big games in the last 10 years) or b) fortunate bounces... some may say you create your own luck, but 2013 Auburn might have been one of the luckiest teams I've ever seen make it to a championship. Even Auburn with Cam - one of the greatest athletes to ever play college ball - needed a little luck to make it through that season. Just the nature of the beast.
As another poster points out above, LSU more fortunate in 2007... UGA not fortunate in 2002, 2007, or 2012. It always seemed like the "big breaks" came for UGA in games where they were already winning handily or once the season had spiraled out of control... (ie. unexpected win over UF in a year where you lose to Vandy and Missouri). Conversely, the mistakes were inevitably of the "you had one job" variety.
To argue strength of schedule as your basis over time is ludicrous. Divisions ebb and flow, it's the nature of the game. Currently the balance of power is in the west, but obviously it has not been there forever, and it's not like all 7 teams in the west are better than the teams in the east. You essentially have this:
quote:
Alabama
[no particular order]
Ole Miss
LSU
Auburn
Georgia
Tennessee
Florida
[no particular order]
Arkansas
Texas A&M
Miss St
South Carolina
Mizzou
Kentucky
Vanderbilt
By my count that's 1 extreme elite west team, 3 high quality west - 3 high quality east, - 3 average west - 2 average east, and then 2 mediocre to bad east. So lower bottom right now for the east higher high for the west, but essentially everything else is about the same.
Were I to use our permanent west matchup of Auburn as a measuring stick...
Georgia's record v. Auburn in the last 10 years: 8-2
LSU's record in same time: 7-3
Our record against LSU in the last 15 years of the Mark Richt era: 4-4
I see similarities... dunno about you.

Is Alabama the Ricky Ricardo of TV Land? Only personal greatness can be achieved through a SO?

Auburn has lost to UGA most of the time recently but it still doesn't excuse the fact that UF and UT haven't been that good recently and the rest haven't ever. UGA has no excuse for not winning the East every year. That's a weak schedule. After that it's on them to win the conference and bowl games. UGA has vastly underachieved over that time. UGA has avoided Bama most years. Auburn goes from bad to great year to year. LSU doesn't get a Vandy and Kentucky to play every year.

I'm aware of that. How in the hell does that make them luckier? They won in 2003 because they were better than UGA.

No!
Georgia is the LSU of the east.

13-1 LSU got lucky in 2003, 13-1 Uga did not in 2002.
