Count me in w/ Chesh. If we could get Chryst, that would be huge. Him and Bielema worked really well together. Hopefully Chryst's ego wouldn't get in the way. OC in the SEC can get you back where you want to be. Look at Kiffin.

I feel like whatever we do will be wrong. History tells us this. The coaches we DON'T hire seem to do very well and of course we know about the ones we do.

I don't see the problem with his post. Unfortunately, I agree.

This is actually a good topic... Johnny had it. Tebow had it. Les Miles seems to have it somehow more often than not.

Finding ways to win vs preventing the win through conservative pussyfooting around. Our old coach Mike Sherman did NOT have it.

Most of my posts are great topics, they just tend to rustle and get anchored. I nabbed two gumps on the first page alone. Get in the good discussion while you can.

Enh, I rather liked the display of honest, refreshing, dislike from last week with the Aggies and Hogs picking on each other. Unlike a few Aggie fans who seem to have the vapors over such a thing happening. It is good to have the fan base worked up for a game. Grats to Texas A&M and their fans, you guys won the game and you were a lot of fun the whole week leading up to the game.

To the victor goes the spoils so I'll sit back and watch TeLeFaWx transition towards mocking their next opponent.

Just another "let's troll Arkansas thread" because we got lucky to win.

Neither team was naive to knowing how to win. Ut had Worley out which had a huge affect and there line sucks. Arkansas has no were near the speed in back 7 to stop an A n m

Interesting premise.
I actually read an article this morning that discussed it.
Winning is a habit, as Texas A&M shows and Arkansas is reminded

All indications are that Bielema is a coach who will get his team there--they're simply a year or two away.

And FWIW, I think both Sumlin and Bielema agree with your take:
quote:

“When you’ve got your foot on somebody’s throat, keep it on it,” Bielema said. “We need to have that killer mentality, to put that thing away.”
quote:

“We’re going to be in games like that,” Sumlin said. “The key is, you have to have a personality as a football team that allows yourself to think that you’re going to win.”

I think Bielema is going to exercise a lot of SEC demons for Arkansas fans against LSU. That game will not be pretty.

The OP is on to something. Winners win easy, they find a way.
This is why I was encouraged by the KY game, I thought we found a way to win- surely KY found their way to lose to us- like 28 years in a row.
We did what we could at first against Bama, but we were out coached, and our QB is garbage.
So will TN's habit of losing will happen again, or is Florida going to just implode?

BTW, I'm a tennis addict and I read a lot of tennis winning books. And streaks in winning and losing are a real thing. Tennis is a very stressful (because of it's scoring) game, and the mind game is probably more important than technique. There are ways to overcome losing streaks, things you can do.

Anyway getting back to football, our punter was awesome two years ago, and last year he was simply terrible. Out of the blue. This year, he is back to his former stellar self. Why? He wasn't hurt. What changed? It was all up in his head.

Kentucky is a pretty good example of the question. They had chances to put away Florida but didn't do it. When they played Vandy, despite having some real hiccups during the game, they were able to KBO (Keep Buggering On) their way to a win. It was a huge step forward for them, not only breaking the string of losses in the SEC, but doing so in a game where they did not play their best.
