You could probably make two very good weekend staffs out of Florida's bullpen.

Corbin is a good coach but i don't think you can put him on that level yet.

Florida is loaded yes...but lets not act like LSU is winning with a bunch of scrappy no name players. You guys have to be top 10 talent wise. Probably top 5.

No one said LSU didn't have top 10 talent or acted like they won with scrappy players. But to say LSU has more talent than anyone every year is just plain false

I definitely disagree with that.

would say they are equal. I would put Corbin right there with them.

Yeah you can't leave out Corbin IMO. These three are the cream of the crop in the SEC and country with a few others from outside the SEC.

How using any metric is he on the same level with Mainieri?

Probably. LSU has more baseball talent than anyone in the country and we have struggled in the postseason since our win in '09.
Sully and Corbin are better recruiters, IMO.
Practially same CWS appearances, but Paul has a ring.
Paul seems to have a knack for juggling players to wring out every drop of talent available on a roster.
So I'd say depends on your metric of elite

He had to build the program from scratch at Vandy. They hadn't even made a regional in 20 years when Corbin got there.

They have both made the CWS three times in their SEC tenure and won one NC.

For the record CPM 4 at LSU plus 1 at ND, CTC 3 appearances.

He's a good coach. So is Pulmonary. Pulmonary has a ring. He is more elite

Oh yeah you are right. Point still stands that they are comparable.

I think Corbin is a very good coach, but he's playing on a different recruiting field than the rest of us in the SEC. It's different when you can go well beyond the 11.7 scholarships allotted. Some schools get lottery scholarships to help, but that only goes so far.

Actually the talent that Fla has gotten to campus especially on the mound over his tenure is a lot better than the arms on LSU's staff.

It's Florida's year to win it!

Just to clarify, Vanderbilt doesn't go beyond the 11.7 scholarships allotted. The Opportunity Vanderbilt program defrays some of the cost for all students on campus that qualify based on need and each student's FAFSA. Yes, it is a substantial benefit but when you consider the large disparity in cost of attendance (especially in-state) between Vandy and the rest of the conference, Vandy would be at a huge disadvantage without it.

But as it stands vandy can offer additional financial aid to most of the team. Quite a sell to go to a school like Vandy for free when the rest of the conference, at best, can only offer that to in state students through lottery scholarships (the MS and AL schools excluded). Sure, if Vabdy couldn't do that they'd be at a disadvantage. But, because they can, they have a substantial upper hand on the rest of the SEC
